Eyes.

Eyes,
they can
tell us oh
so much if
we dare to
peer deeply
enough.

More than
a
"window to
the soul"
but rather
the meeting
place for
everything
about you
in the universe
to go... ..

and to
grow

into an
unforgettable write
by
Edgar Allen Poe

and a place
where,

me, alas... ..
is filled with
very little
woe.

Behind those
eyes are where
life lives
and where
life dies.

Stare if
you must
because,

behind
my eyes is
an enchantment
of
paradise's
skies.
The birdbath
in the
parking lot
is a
watering hole
for the fowl
and the
homeless
foul smelling
to bathe.

I pray
for rain
soon.
Maybe,

maybe
when my
heart beats,

it beats
because
of you?
Morning stars together sing
as jays of blue
take flight on wing.

The breeze is limp
as oaks stand still.

The greying sky with rain now fills.

A rainbow falls
upon the ground.

A colorful thud without a sound.

As nightfall crawls across the moon.

I stir my coffee
with spoon in June.
Be proud of your roots.
Let them grow,
unruly,
wide and deep
where you are.

Be a shelter
for weary souls.
We all need to rest
from time to time.

A shade for travelers;
living can be hard.

Storms will come,
undeniably,
but stand firm.

They will make you stronger.

Just hold on.

We really only need
Sunlight,
Water
and Mother Earth.

The rest isn't needed
for you to truly grow.

And when you die,
die gracefully,
just as you lived,
with your heart open and with
outstretched limbs.

And
maybe... ..

most importantly,
remember...

like a tree,
you are beautiful in every season of your life.
Brown and dried up Autumn leaves

Slowly fracture into pieces

Carried away by the winds of today -

into another day's tomorrow.

Up against the decrepit curb

Perilously close to the gutter.

Winds have calmed to just a breeze

With winter snow's they wait to freeze.
I wouldn't mind if it lasted all night,

cause layin next to you it just feels so right.

As the number of street lights continue to grow,

hey...
where this ends up ain't nobody knows.

I go and grab my keys ...start my truck the next mornin',

out them front doors here you come a runnin'.

I guess last night meant more than just nothin',

I guess last night we must a had a little somethin'.
