why people nag all the time
while the ocean rolls away
beside you and your
cool drink
I'm not an angel here
I don't get me wrong and still do
but still
picture it and float away

about people who call
and
people who are being called

Really really wanted to
write a few
lovely lines        
about you and about
our years and
about our love
and about the blue
flowers 
you showed me
that day and
I closed my eyes
I needed to

I really felt pretty today
I was at the beach
And that was all
My skin needed today

I used to like to
stay in bed but now I just
keep on walking
all over town,
to pass the time
to walk you out of my system
to see the beauty of my town
again
use that as an analogy -
Because it is too late
How I did love you
once
and how I am just hiding
now
And I keep on wondering if we
really did try -

Such happiness
I felt with you
and music and films and
just laughing there

Such peace
I felt in the house
and the river and
just lying there

What I thought at least
Until money kicks in
Or envy and
freedom an issue

It was ever so nice meeting you
We must do this again
sometime
