He was once strong, bright, young and agile.

Today feels he old, easily tired, sad n fragile.

People mock at him, calling him senile.

Feels he like an old owl now, who can't fly a mile.

Nature has her ways misterious even weird sometimes.

Impaired sight, hearing, smell n activities all slowdown many times.

In youth, he was a champ, an expert, who won many a race.

An athelete once upon a time; now   cannot  climb a staircase.

An old debilitated owl he is now; no more a cash cow.

Awaiting he is his turn to go up, anytime now.

SHARE

People so easily share happiness, joy, fun with a friend or a host

But when it comes to sharing pain of another, only very few can boast

Insensitive or busy we become, always running short of time

Believe me, this indifferent attitude of ours is almost a crime.

A call or two we definitely make, on hearing about death, disease or illness

But do we help out? reach out to them? to share pain n ensure their wellness

Do think, a formality so different is, from genuine care n concern about someone

Duty-bound people may go a step further n help offer; but there is care little or none

Let us genuinely reach out to people in pain, like a few good friends of mine did, in my hour of need

Children n grandchildren are rock like support, even morsels of food, us they feed.

A big THANK YOU to all my dear ones, my Freyu, family and friends who stood by me

Freyu if it were not for your unconditional love n support, to go through this, able I wouldn't be.

O Ahura, when ready they are, scooped from their oysters, them with readers, I would like to share

Varied may they be, shiny, shimmering, lustrous, white, ivory, or pink, for each and every, I deeply care

My poems n quotes should create an impact deep n for a better change; like oxygen does to air.

AN UNPOLISHED STONE

We are mortals absolutely ordinary, perhaps uncut diamonds, like an ordinary unpolished stone;

But try our best we must, as much as we can, in the given circumstances; remembering we are never alone;

It's Earth Day.... A few lines straight from my heart....

ABOUT OUR EARTH; DO WE BOTHER???

Our Earth is burning, scorching, but who is  bothered; why bother; do we really care???

We discuss, argue, hold summits; but then mostly things are forgotten; do we really care???

Forests are cleared, trees chopped off in urban areas for construction of buildings; do we really care???

Polution increases, rain decreases, water shortage is acute; but there's hardly any action; do we really bother???

Sea levels are increasing, glaciers melting and decreasing; but how does it concern us; do we really bother???

Our grandchildren may have to carry portable oxygen; but that's really not our concern; about this, do we really bother???

BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, LET'S PLANT ATLEAST ONE TREE OR A FEW POTTED PLANTS.

પત્થર નું જીગર હોત તો સારું, આવું દર્દ તો ન થાત

મોમ જેવા દિલમાં, થોડો ગરમાવો પણ દઝાડે, સાચી છે આં વાત.

પરાયું અને પોતાનું દર્દ લઈ કોમળ દિલ વાળો થાય દુઃખી

હીરો કઠણ હોય એટલે કદાચ એ હોય છે કીમતી;

ઓ માલિક મારા, જરા જરામાં મારે શા કાજ થવું જોઈએ દુઃખી;

પૈસા

ભાઈ મારા, પૈસા ની છે ચારે તરફ બોલબાલા

પૈસા હોય તો લાગો તમે, જગને બહુ વાહલા

ઓદ્ધા ખુરસી ને નમે લોક, દૌડે તમારી આગળ પાછળ

પૈસાવાળાઓ ની લંગોટી લાગે એમને વહાલી, હોય જાણે એ માં નું આચળ.

શું થઈ ગયું છે આં જગને ? પૂછે છે તમને "અનાર"

પ્રેમ, સગાઈ, પોતાના વહાલાઓ ને ભૂલી, પૈસાની ગાથા ગાય છે, સંસાર

માન્યું કે આપણાથી પૈસા વગર ડગલું પણ ભરાય નહિ એક ;

પણ શું પૈસા પાછળ ગાંડાની જેમ નાશી, ખોવી દેવાય વિવેક ???

આપજે એટલું ધન મને, કે હાથ ધરવો ન પડે કોઈ આગળ, હે ભગવાન

છે તારા હાથમાં બધું;  જાળવી રાખજે મારું માન સન્માન.

Oh the poor soul, he always tried, to her hurt ;

With his verbal diarrhoea, as he often did blurt !

Honestly I wonder, how can one be so rude n  curt !

How can someone treat another so shabbily, like dirt !

Seems he had a collection huge under his girth;

Or off his pocket pulled out words rude, from his shirt.

A maiden sweet she was, kind, loving n affectionate.

Friendly and cute, the one anyone would love to date.

But today, see her if you do, she is in a pathetic state.

Happiness one cannot anymore see on her face, albeit !

Rude people crush can, a tender loving person's heart n fate.

Please help her to bring back her happiness n change her fate.

DRASTIC CHANGE

Things have so drastically changed in last twenty-four hours

Learn I will have to, to see your picture, around which there will be flowers

From a live wire, a photograph, become you have; just a steady dot.

So many changes occurred have, account them, I simply cannot

Numbness has me enveloped, yet my feelings I am trying to pour

43 years of married life and 45 years of association is the long score

How to react to this or it accept; I really don't know, what to do

It will be most difficult to live without you, but I will have to.

Perhaps with my writing, my passion, try I will to myself keep busy

But know I very well, life without you is not going to be easy.

For a son, life long, I was always pinning

Dark clouds almost always have a silver lining

Thus began my precious second innings.

As a senior batsman, in my second innings I am shining.

A cute grandson into my life has now come.

Along with my granddaughter, they are an awesome twosome.

Of my life the most important part they have become;

Enjoy we whenever for their holidays they come.

Quench they the thirst of being loved

It's simply divine when in my arms they curl curved.

Me, with their unconditional love they have served.

Realised I to be an orphan, is an excruciatingly painful experience;

Many, him adored and  admired, and said, " wah wah, Shabaash."

Under his able and fearce leadership, Indians, to gain Independence, had great "AASH"

But his sudden disappearance into the air thin made his followers "NIRASH"

Whatever the reason, wish we, wouldn't this horrible incident, "Kaash"

BROUGHT AN INSTANT SMILE ON MY FACE ; BUT ALSO SET ME THINKING.....

AAA...We were returning home on 31Dec evening, when our neighbors were leaving for New Year's celebration.
After exchanging pleasantries, when we saw their tiny daughter holding her doll, we asked the little one, "Shaivu, what's your doll's name?" Her Dad chuckled n said, "earlier she had an English name, but now it has been changed"; So out of curiosity we asked her,  "Shaivu, what's her new name ?" She promptly said, "Baba Ramdev"; to which we exclaimed, "what!!!" She said, "because her one eye is spoilt, she now looks like him".

BBB... As many Bawajis speak foul language, a cousin also did. Sitting on the varanda swing, he would call out to his wife or Mom, to tell them that the vegetable vendor was there, with a "BC, tarkariwalo aayoch...BC, Doodhwala aayoch" etc.
One day, when he wasn't around and the vegetable vendor came, his 3 year old daughter cried out loudly, "Mummy pelo BC aayoch". Needless to say, her Mom was shocked beyond words and her father got a dressing from his Mummy.

Children are very observant. That's why, we parents and grandparents must actually practise what we preach; and also strictly avoid what we don't want them to pickup and learn.

On a train journey you are,  passing through different terrains

Through  Sunshine and shadows, through fog, mist or rains

Fields, jungles, bridges over rivers, n caves n tunnels in the mountains

The train sometimes has to pass through  deserts dry n burning hot

In our lives too, face we circumstances varied n in difficulties get caught

Scared do not get, my little heart; with anxiety do not like a butterfly flutter

Or whilst challenges facing, with nervousness do not stutter;

Ruthless, selfish and indifferent this world is, n always shall be so

But till your journey lasts n that destination final comes, please don't feel low

Remember Anar, once you are on board the train, once begins your journey of life;

Constant stress and strain face you
will have to; learn Anar, to deal with strife.

In a corner, in some middle sized pots, these, you can easily sow

Believe me, fantastic will be the taste, of that cuppa tea with those plants you grow.

Freshen you up it will, enliven your heart and body it will, after this cuppa tea, you won't feel low.

That we have been showing towards You and Nature in every aspect.

The poor,  their plight is  pitiable, perishing in thousands they are.

Homeless, people have become, because their villages are very far.

Starving they are,  without eating and drinking ; due to deficit money;

Also because of  chopped trees, barren roads are extremely hot and  sunny.

Answer please  to our ardent plea, grant us again, a healthy world.

Most people are already tired of sitting, in their cocoons curled.

Salutes aplenty from me, to these souls, brave, daring and bold.

Know I, have these Fauji- families, minds of steel but hearts of pure gold;

But in steel, in iron, these, hearts they somehow, painstakingly mould.

Sadly, very shamefully, some politicians have, to an extent, this Nation sold.

God, please help our  Armed Forces, these brave men and their families. With respect great, I them hold.

BODY, HEART N SOUL

As our body needs a tender skin care, with facials, body massages n creams,

So does our  heart n soul need words soothing; so often silently for this, they scream.

Every heart n soul, for love, understanding and compassion constantly yearns.

But only the lucky few this easily get; though free, difficult it is, to these, from people earn.

As we lovingly tend to our bodies, with nutrition, exercises etc. them pampering;

Let's please tend to others hearts, with  little of love, understanding,  compassion; n happiness in their lives bring.

If just a wee bit of love, understanding n tolerance practise we, happy will be we and happier still, will be ours.

For this we don't have to hours waste; silently, give a wee bit of our consideration n efforts; n they will be easily yours.

बिन पिए छाया है आंखों में सुरूर;

कोई तेरा नाम ले, तो होता है अपने पे गुरूर ।

यह कैसा नशा है, ओ मेरे हमदम, मेरे हुज़ूर ?

असर होती है इसकि गहरी, पास हो या दूर ।

गर बिन पिए हुआ है यह हाल; तो आप का ही है कसूर ।

इस लिए कहता हूं, आंखे आप की, बड़ी नशीली है हुजुर;

खूबसूरत तो है ही, चमकता है इन में, एक अजीब सा नुर ।

छा जाता है नशा; बिन पिए; असर होती हैं गहरी ज़रूर ।

ह्रदय धड़कता है आप के लिए, जो प्यार से है उर पुर ।

मांगू इतना, रखिए न हमें, आप से दूर, बनिए न यु क्रूर ।

किस्मत हमारी, काश होती अच्छी, तो आप होते हमारे, ओ हुजुर।

दूर ही से सही, मिले मुझे दीदार आपके, तो बजने लगेंगे सुर

बस यूंही पिलाते रहिए प्यासे को, आंखो में छाता रहेगा सुरूर।

છે બસ આં તમન્ના, તારી બાહોમાં જાય પ્રાણ મારા.
મીઠી છે આં ચાહ મારી; હું હૃદય માં કાયમ રહું તારા.

આંખો હોય ભલે તારી, સુંદર સ્વપ્ન હોય એમાં મારા.
સંગમ થાય બન્ને નો એક; થાય બધાં સ્વપન પૂરા, તારા.

આંખો જ્યારે થાય બંધ રોજ, અને કાયમ માટે મારી;
