O Revered Ahura,

I know, You have created all creatures; n them we must treat well;
But Ahura, creepy- crawlies I can't stand. With them, I don't wish to dwell.

Useful each n every creature is, but excuse me if I don't, them like.
In fact, quite often, at the sight of these, to shoo them, I strike.

Sometimes, we humans act weird, but hope I, to be excused by You.
One such request weird is, keep them away from my home, I will be very grateful to You.

પળભરમાં, મૂર્ખ સાથે, પડી શકે સંકટમાં જાન.

કરી નાખે એ તમારી હસતી રમતી જિંદગી વિરાન.

કહે ચાણક્ય, મૂર્ખ ને તું દૂર થી પહેચાન.

મૂર્ખ થી સંભાળ તું, નહીં પણ થશે તારું કચ્ચર ઘાન.

PASS ON THE BATON.

Will we really be able to pass on the baton to generation next ?

Decide we must very soon, our priorities; having fun or increasing our population !

Indifference, money n power are our priorities; not increasing our population.

Our pathetic state today, is our own creation.
Interested we are in personal progress and recreation.

Culture and Parsipanu forgotten we have, very easily today.
Dilution, dissolution n self- destruction is the call of the day.

Wake up, rise to the occasion; learn to love your religion
Do this, before deep and septic becomes this lesion.

MY VIVID IMAGINATION

Lemon seeds few I throw, n grow from them should umpteen lemon trees

Similarly Mango, Chiku, guava, drumstick,  orange trees should increase.

May coconut palms plenty flourish, swaying gracefully along with sea breeze.

Date palms, so very many,  should grow, turning into oasis, the dry desert sands.

How very beautiful will our  Earth look, imagine Her I; as if,  like a bride she stands.

No poor, hungry will go, when filled with  veggies n fruits will be our lands.

Happy beyond words I be will, if on every road n highway happen this really  would;

If every man plant trees few could; this Earth like paradise, surely look would

if instructions given can be, our doongerwadis, Baugs, like orchards look would.

O  Ahura,  silly sound to many it could,  but You can, my imagination easily fulfil.

May my vivid imagination come true. May  Amardad  Ameshaspand n Spenta  Armaiti also, this will;

May the rich selflessly look into this, n green become our land; every dale n hill.

For wishing me, as I turned 65 yesterday .
it is indeed good wishes, that count.
When together; the effect does mount.

Humans mostly, by nature, very selfish are.
Compared to him, not even an animal wild, is at par .
To attain their desire, go they can, really far.
In this race, cast, creed or breed, there is no bar.
For one's own gain of ten percent, someone's hundred, he can mar.
When he needs a person; stick to him, he will, like mortar.
Once greed obtained; upon the poor, leave he will, a big scar.
Can we try to better ourselves, throwing away this instinct, far ?

From the time, into my life, suddenly came;

Need do not I, any wealth or fame.

All I wish to do is take your name;

Or any circumstances, try to blame.

It is no longer puppy love or a game.

Yet love, one just cannot claim;

ફરી એક વખત, બોલ્યું મારું મન, " તે આં શું કર્યું યાર ?

શા માટે કરીએ જાય છે તું , એક પડછાયા ને પ્યાર ?

આમ એકધારી, ક્યાં સુધી અને કેટલી જોશે તું એની વાર ?

વર્ષો વિત્યા તો પણ મળ્યો નથી તને હજી, એક સુખી સંસાર.

અને વળી હજી પણ દેખાતા નથી સુખ ના કોઈ બી આસાર.

કહ્યું હતું મે તને અનેક વાર, કર નહિ તું એક પડછાયાને પ્યાર "

દિલે આપ્યો જવાબ, "વાત તારી બધીજ છે સાચી, માનું છું હું હાર"

"પણ તારા જેવી વિચારશક્તિ નથી મુજમાં, એટલે ખાઈ જાઉં છું માર.

હું તો બસ દિલ આપ્યા પછી, કરિયેજ જાઉં છું પ્યાર"

દુનિયાદારી ની સમજ તારામાં છે, હું તો હજી પણ કરું છું આં રીતેજ પ્યાર".

બોલ્યું મન, " આં બધાં લોકો પાસેથી, તું પણ સિખ થોડો ઘણો વ્યાપાર, વ્યવહાર."

મળ્યો જવાબ દિલ નો, " મને તો બસ આવડે છે કરતાં પ્યાર, સંભાળીલે તું જ, આં સંસાર.

દ્વન્દ્વ કરવું નથી મને કોઈ, હું તો બસ કરિયેજ જાઉં છું પ્યાર, બસ પ્યાર જ પ્યાર".

આં મન તો બધું જ જાણે, પણ કોઈ નું કહ્યું ન માને

પ્રીત રચે એ, પણ દુઃખ સહે બિચારું દિલ, જાણે અંજાને

ચંચળ છે એ બહુ, થઈ જાય એ બસ એક પળ માં પરાયું.

ઉડે અને ઉછળે એ, જાણે હોય વાદળ કે પછી વહેતો વાયુ.

પળ માં પરાયું થઈ, કરે એ બિચારા દિલ ને બહુ પરેશાન.

આંધીમાં એ દીપક પ્રગટાવવા જાય, બિચારા દિલ ને રાખી અંજાન.

પ્રીતમ ને જોઈ થઈ જાય એ સાઉ બાવરું, બચકાની કરે હરકત

પળ ભર માં એ જીવન ભર ની તકલીફ વોહરી લેય; આમાં નથી બે મત.

કરું શું હું આં ચંચળ મન નું; કોઈ તો બતાવો ઉપાય

કોઈ મને આપે સલાહ, કે સંજોગો માં આવા, સુખ શાંતિ કેવી રીતે સ્થપાય ?

Time flies, many  things change.
Of these, really long is the range.
Living together is indeed an art.
Like most people intelligent n smart.
Often, eye to eye we don't see.
Yet loving and caring we can be.

Wondering often, how these years 41 , passed in a blink

RIGHT AWAY, LET'S SAY, " I WILL...."

Before filling my plate with food, I will first, it taste.

Make it a point I will, not to heap food, and it waste.

I will respect my food and won't gobble it in haste.

To improve my health, I will chew it to form a fine  paste.

Remember I will, that my stomach is not a bag to dump waste.

TO SAVE WATER, I WILL....

Only take a little drinking water at a time, so that  waste it, I won't.

If there is extra water in my glass, plants I will water. Waste it I won't.

Whilst brushing, bathing or Washing, keep the tap running, I won't.

Reuse waste water from RO and AC plants; waste it I won't.

Tons of water from washing machines can be reused to flush toilets, waste water I won't.

ભલે દૂર છે, પણ મારા વિચારો માં છે તું પાસે.

દર્શન ભલે ન થાય તારા, પણ નૈનો માં તો તુજ વસે.

ક્ષણ એવી નથી, જ્યારે યાદ તારી ન આવે;

તારી નાની નાની, મીઠી હરકતો મને બહુ ભાવે.

હું તારી ભલે ન હોઉં, પણ તું મુજ માં છે સમયો.

કદી ન સમજી શકાય કે તું મારો જ છે, નથી પરાયો.

કૃષ્ણ ક્યાં યશોદા નો હતો;  હતો એ તો પરાયો જાયો.

મીરાં અને રાધા માટે પણ એ હતો પોતાનો, છતાં પણ પરાયો.

આં છે તારા માટે વિધાતાએ રચેલું, વિધિ નું વિધાન.

કરવું રહ્યું તારે પણ, તારી કિસ્મત સાથે સમાધાન.

સાચી દોસ્તી નથી જોતી કંઈ ફર્ક
એ તો નિહરે અંદર નો અરક.

કૃષ્ણ સુદામા માં હતો તફાવત, એક રાજા બીજો રંક.
દોસ્તી રાખતી નથી હિસાબ, નફા નુકસાન ના કોઈ અંક.

એ તો છે એક ઝરણું નિર્મળ
સંસાર ના સુખ દુઃખ ના અડતા નથી એને વમળ.

મારા દોસ્તો ને રાખજે સદા સુખી.
જોજે ખુદા, થાય ના એ કદી બી દુઃખી.

TEACH YOUR CHILDREN, NOT TO....

Thinks one does not, of all different aspects;
All one wishes is that his dear ones give him love n respect.

Ahura,tell me, what does a man with self respect, expect ;
Only that people should him, love n respect.

Expectations many, one must have not, I agree
But sad I feel, when third grade treatment, given is, then I disagree.

Why have money n power overtaken this world ?
Why are poor n unimportant people, hassled n hurled ?

Ashamed people are, of their relatives poor, commercially useless n old.
Them they often neglect, snub, even ill-treatment or scold.

O Ahura, let such things happen not. May man's good side win, and ahreman's not.

Any grave illness,  acute or chronic is like a curse,

That's when we know the importance of a nurse.

She is the one who helps us to this situation reverse;

Be it problems of heart,  brain, kidneys,  back or liver n bile.  

It is a straining job to do so,  yet she does it with a smile

That's the reason you recover enough to walk a mile.

She is like a daughter,  sister, mother to those who are ill;

Giving medical treatment, be they, injections or many a pill

Overworked she is, tired n exasperated with this drill;

And yet does this she willingly, with a smile,  for years,  everyday.

Thank her with all our heart and at least a flower please offer today

Accept our gratitude dear Florence  Nightingale; for your health we pray.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Call it they bloodless; but plenty of blood was, during partition shed;

Sadly events a bad turn took, suddenly changed our people's outlook

Joy ours was short-lived, as soon after, our Gandhiji was shot;

Chaos and confusion ruled; and we our character lost slowly but certainly

Hope things for the better change; strengthen our National spirit n character

May peace, prosperity and happiness prevail here; and all over the world.  

Wishes "Anar" Mother India and every Indian a Happy Independence day,

may Indians prosper and flourish; climb the ladder n go a long long way.

Christmas gone; Santa, why didn't I, my gift receive ?
Sorry little one; but how could I, you deceive?
You asked me, to get back your dearest Mother.
I could only give you something other;
Like a toy, a book, bag, computer or a phone.
I am sorry, I know you feel lonely and you are all alone.

Santa can't, a human being bring back.
Actually, frankly speaking,  empty is Santa's sack.
May Children never ever orphans become.
Nor, should parents lose their child some.

વિચિત્ર વર્તન કરી, બગાડે કોઈક નિર્દોષ નો સંસાર

અહમ બગાડે સંબંધો, દોસ્તી, ફેલાવે અંધકાર

છોડ તું અહમ ભરેલા તારા વિચાર, સુખી થશે આખો સંસાર.

અંતર આત્મા નું સાગર મંથન કરી, જાત ને તું સુધાર

સારા આચાર વિચાર થી જ સુખી થાય સૈાનો સંસાર.

PONDER UPON THIS

Ponder upon these important aspects let us all.
Why n what are the reasons of our down-fall ?
Small differences, selfishness n ego, our joint family destroyed.
This family joint, was our strength real, our value that our parents enjoyed.

Marriages mixed, our Parsipanu destroyed, and our religion endangered is.
Today, threatened is our very existence, chances have decrease(d).
False believes, that I am my own master;
The yearning to prosper individually, caused has, this disaster.

And all this, done is, under the pretext of modern becoming.
Not once do we think of the destruction pending; danger oncoming.
Let's hope and pray realization soon comes to us.
To avoid the doom impending, açcordingly, work thus.

WASTE NOT

You may have lots of money,  but things waste not.

Eat we may,  what we fancy; but food waste not.

Water supply round the clock use you may; but water, waste not.

Fashion follow, but think about the naked shivering; clothes waste not.

Heating,  cooling,  lighting up your home you may; but  electricity waste not.

Eat, drink & merry be, but remember,  everyday is not a feast!

Little food, spare for the hungry please, man, bird n beast.

Water try to reuse, from washing machines n RO  plants at least.

grow trees and plants few, every year, I insist;

To pollution reduce,  oxygen levels increase, must  be our endeavour least.

Go out of your way,  please dare;

Try to  help everyone; a  smile wear

To make others comfortable,  give your care.

CAREFUL BE

Money and power bring in pride, which most people digest cannot
Then, in their own, self-made web, they do get miserably caught.

The moment, get you such a feeling, immediately, it dread.
For if untreated, die you, before you are actually dead.

Know we all, that pride has a fall, at many times, serious it is.
Careful be, if arrogant you feel, immediately pause, please.

Let us, our children teach, to take failure and success in their stride.
If you control do not the horse, n tighten it reigns, it won't let you ride.

A stitch in time, saves nine, so realise n your arrogance control.
Pray for help, realise that it is, unto you, Ahura's dole.

In the given circumstances,  try to happy be, never  sad

वो बात

प्रीतम से ही छुपा के रखे थे मैंने, मेरे जो जज़्बात,  मेरी वो बात ;

जो छुपा के रखी थी, होटों तक आते आते, रह गई आज मेरे दिल की बात ;

हाथकड़ी पहना दी मैंने उन बातों को, रौंध दिए मैंने, मेरे ही जज़्बात ।

फिर गीत में मैंने ढाल दिए उन्हें; और लोग कहने लगे, "वाह वाह क्या बात" !!!

अश्कों को पीने की आदत हो गई है अब; छुपा लेती हूं मै मनकी बात

सीने में सुलग रही है बीरह की आग; पर होटों पर हसी बिछा के, दुःख को दे देती हूं मात

बस खुली आंखों से देख लेती हूं प्रीतम के साथ, एक बड़ी ही हसीन मुलाकात ।

सपने कहां कभी होते हैं अपने, वो तो मेहमान है; आते हैं जब छा जाती है रात

सुबह होते ही, गायब हो जाते है ; छोड़ देते है वो मेरा साथ !

पर ऐ दिल, पूछ जरा आंखोसे अपनी; सपने उसे आए कहां से, जब जागती है यह आंखे सारी रात ।

बोला दिल, "मालिक मेरे, सपनों में भी, रखना उन्हें खुशहाल हर पल, दिन हो या रात "।

काश एक दिन ऐसा आए, जब पी कह दे मुझे, मेरे ही दिलकी बात, जिसे सुन ने के लिए बेताब हूं मैं, दिन रात।

આપજે ઓ ખુદા મને સદબુદ્ધિ અને શક્તિ

કે કરી શકું હું, તન મન ધન થી તારી ભક્તિ.

પણ હું તો ચાહું બનાવવા ભજન/ મોનાજાત અને ગીત

શ્રદ્ધા પૂર્વક ગાઉં એ મીઠા મધુરા ગીત; અને જતાવું મારી પ્રીત

તારી આંખોથી નીતરે પ્રેમ અશ્રુ, જ્યારે સાંભળે તું આં સંગીત.

સ્વિકારજે તું મારા આં પ્રેમભર્યા ગીત/ મોનાજાત

છોડતો ન કદી મારો સાથ, પકડી રાખજે આં હાથ.

મારે માટે બની રેહજે તું એક પ્રેમાળ પિતા; ભલે હોય તું જગત નો નાથ.

ऐ खुदा,

क्यों रिश्तों का हो रहा है आजकल व्यापार?
जो इंसानों में बसता था; कहां खो गया वोह प्यार?

ओ जग के मालिक, क्या पूछ सकती हूं तुझे यह सवाल;
यह क्या हो गया है, तेरी दुनियां का हाल ?

हर जगह जूठ, हर पल धोका, हर रिश्ता खोखला।
यह रिष्टोका खोखलापन देख के , इंसान  गया है बौखला ।

घर छोटा हो सकता है पर दिल छोटा हो तो कोई क्या करें ?
दिल मतलब से भरा हो, जुबां पे कुछ और हो; तो कोई क्या करें ?

दोस्तो पे, संबंधीओ पे, अरे पति- पत्नी और भाई, बहनों पे कर नहीं सकते ऐतबार ।
यह क्या हो गया, अब कहां जा के रुकेगा यह पापो से भरा संसार ?

आग लगा दे, सब को उठा ले, क्यो रहें कोई इस  सडी हुई गंदगी में ।
त्याग कर यह पापी जहान, ध्यान लगाए हम अपना, तेरी बंदगीमे ।

OUR......

Due to our inflated ego,  a lot of damage done is;

Request I to everyone,  shed  pride n ego please;

Do not it pamper and protect, or try to it  appease.  

If exists ego in leaders, it destroys two Nation's peace.

If in spouse or siblings,  it does, domestic tensions increase.

Work with all our hearts, we must, to ego and pride decrease;

Though, please mix do not,  one's self respect with this.

The moment,  feel proud you do; there it self,  freeze.

Remember never to ego and pride fan; like fire they increase.

Help big  or small,  rich or poor, everyone around you please.

Do not your hot air blow; be cool n gently like the soothing breeze.

बीना चांद के, जिसका कोई भी  अस्तित्व नहीं, मै हूँ वो चांदनी ।

फीकी पड़ रही हूँ, बिना तेरे ; पता है हर किसीको, चांद  के बिना कैसी चांदनी !

अमावस्यकी रात बडी ही है लम्बी, जब चांद नही, तो कहां से होगी चांदनी !

न जाने कब तक यूहीं चलेगी यह अमावस्य की रात; उदास है बिचारि चांदनी!

आज फिर तड़प ने लगा है दिल, आज फिर तेरी याद है आयी ।
मुरझाया है चेहरा, आंखो में है आंसू, और सुनी है मेरी कलाई;
क्या करू, दुर दुर तक दिखती नहीं मुझे, तेरी परछाई ।

करे मुझे परेशान, चाह तेरी,  तेरी याद, और यह तन्हाई ;
बरसों से बैठी है यह विरहन, तेरी राह देखे;  बाहे है मैंने फैलाई;
चारों तरफ़, जहां बी जाऊ, एक उदासी है छाई ।

તો જ વધશે વસ્તી પારસીઓ ની; થશે અમારા વારા ન્યારા.

अपना बेगाना

है तो  तु आखिर एक बेगाना, जो लगे  अपना

तु है वो सपना  जो  कभी नहीं हो सकता है अपना

कसुर है मेरा, दिल जो दे बैठी तुझे  अपना;

वो अपनाही पगला दिल, जो हो न सका कभी अपना

हो गया है वो पराया, जबसे माना तुझे मैने अपना

अब  यह जिवन सारा, बन गया है एक भयानक सपना

एक बेगाने ने सारे जिवन को बदल डाला; दिल रहा नहीं अपना

पल भर का प्यार, कभी हुआ न इकरार, और दिल रहा न अपना

काश ऐसा होता ! यह ही बेगाना, बन जाता मेरा अपना

મારી ભૂખ

કૃપા કરી, બસ બેજ રોટલી ખાઉં, એવું જમતિ વેળા આપ મને યાદ.
કરું છુ હું તને વિનંતી; કરતી નથી કોઈ ફરિયાદ.

આં રીતે શરીર મારું રેહસે તંદુરસ્ત ને સ્વસ્થ.
હવે થઇ રહી છું હું, વૃદ્ધ, થોડી વય વ્યસ્ત.

થશે ઓછા ખોરાક થી મને ફાયદા અનેક.
તો આજથી કરાવ મને આં કામ નેક.

સ્વસ્થ થશે તન, ચંચળ રેહશે મન.
ગરીબો ના ભાગે, આવશે વધારે અન્ન.

આં રીતે કરીશ હું ભલાઈ ના કામ.
આં કર્મ થી, જરૂર આવશે સારો અંજામ.

પ્રભુ પ્યારા, વિનંતી મારી કરજે સ્વીકાર.
નિયમિત કસરત અને આહાર થી સુંદર થશે આકાર.

MAKE OR BREAK

It is entirely upto us,  whether we wish to make or  break

With some sugar,  butter and flour,  one can make a delicious cake;

Or on the computer,  one can create an image beautiful yet fake.

It's in hands of one,  to bake a real cake delicious; or a colourful image make.

It's one's own life, and decide how to it spend one must; for one's own sake.

Relations with good feelings we can create or with words harsh break.

The goodwill n trust in business we can create or an existing one break.

Thoughts, words, deeds good, with a loving mind create; an attempt make.

Ensure must one, qualities good, tender n loving must  be always  kept awake.

संगीत  मेरे जीवन के लिए है एक अनोखा वरदान

सुर सांस , संगीत धड़कन; दोनों है मेरे जीवनमें, विधाता का वरदान ।

प्रणाम मेरी मां, और मेरे गुरुजीको, जिन्होंने दिया मुझे संगीत का ज्ञान।

गितोमें और कविताओं में बसी है मेरी आत्मा, मेरी जान ।

मेरे प्रणाम उन सारे कवियोंको और गायकोंको  जो है महान ;

कोकिल कंठी लताजीने, बढ़ाई हमारी आन बान शान;

उन्हें भी मेरे कोटि कोटि प्रणाम; देती हूं मैं उन्हें बहुत मान सनमान ।

प्रभु मरते दम और अगले जनमभी देना मुझे यह अनमोल वरदान ।

START WINDING UP

Time to return home, said the little voice within, start winding up.

Oh thought I, why am I so late ! stop I must the overflowing cup

So there we go ! said I, to myself, "let's seriously start winding up".

But easy it wasn't; I loved all the things that came popping up!

Which ones do I get rid of? Oh ! felt I now, like a silly puzzled pup.

This is from my college days, n this one, on a trip, I had picked up.

Ah !  and this one, my wonderful, honeymoon memories brings up

Decided I to hang on for a while; I just now can't anything easily give up

It suddenly felt silly, that all life, collected I articles cute, only to wind up !

Then I requested my little voice, let me happy be, I need to cheer up !

Why worry now; when I die, all this I will automatically n most willingly give up

So now, for the moment, postponed I have, to things wind up;

Live I will, a life full of memories fond n good; enjoy it all; n not wind up.

Ready I am for departure any minute, need there is not, at this moment, to wind up.

उस दिन से अब तक, खो गया है मेरा चैन
