A TREE TALL

Now stood here, absolutely alone, all by itself, yet looking stately, a tree tall

Time had taken the rest away, leaving it lonely, all alone by itself stood, this single tree tall.

All its leaves it shed, its branches almost dry; weeping with excruciating pain, during this fall

With so many of them, right besides it, happy it was, accompanied n protected by them all.

Then came a time, when one by one the rest fell, it sadly stood, grimly watching this all.

Today even without autumn, it looks leafless n bare, all alone, eagerly waiting to fall

Birds few do come to chirp, but nestle they don't; insects some, occasionally do near it crawl.

Without them all, its greenery n charm has gone, its leaves rustling, awaiting God's call

શુભ દિપાવલી

હતી એ એક કાજળ કાળી, અમાવસ્ય ની રાત;

પણ આજે કંઈ અનોખીજ હતી આં રાત ની વાત

થવાની હતી આજે પ્રભુ સાથે બધા આયોધ્યાવસી ઓ ની મુલાકાત

ભરત ને મળવાનો હતો સીતાજી, રામ, લક્ષ્મણ નો સાથ

અયોધ્યા નગરી ઝળહળી રહી હતી દિવાળી ના દિપકો સાથ

દીપકઓ ને આપ્યો હતો, ફૂલો અને રંગોળી એ સંગાથ

આં દિવાળી પણ એવી જ હોજો, કૃપા કરજો હે જગ્ગણનાથ.

સંસારપર વરસાવજો અમી ને આશીર્વાદ; શુભ થાઓ આં દીપાવલી ની રાત.

ખુરસી અને દૌલત માટે માનવ થઈ ગયો છે પાગલ

વણવિચરીએ, ખોટે રસ્તે વધી રહ્યો છે આંધળો થઈ ને આગળ.

ખોટા કર્મ કર્યે જાય છે; પંપાળે છે પોતાનો અહંકાર;

આં બધું કરવામાં, ખોઈ દે છે એ સ્વ નો સંતોષ અને મન નો કરાર.

તો પણ વધારીએ જાય છે એ એના પોતાનાં પાપ ના પોટલાં.

તબીયત એની લથડી જાય છે; રહી જાય છે, જેવાં ઇંડા વિનાના કોટલાં.

માયાજાળ માં લપેટાયેલા માનવી ને દલદલમાં ડૂબતાં લાગતી નથી વાર

દાનવનો જોરદાર અને કઠોર હોય છે આં માનવઓ પર પ્રહાર.

દાતા, સદા બચાવજે અમને આં દાનવના પ્રહારથી, થાય ન અમારું પતન.

માંગુ એટલું, બસ કરી લે અમારી સાથે, એક અતૂટ ગઠબંધન.

एक बिरहन पुकारे......

क्या करू, जाती नहीं दिल से, यह ख्वाहिशें मेरी;

कुछ भी करू, जाती नहीं दूर दिल से, यह यादे तेरी

दिमाग कहता है, हटा दें इन्हे तु, दिल से कर दे दूर;

दिल कहता है, संजो के रख तु इन्हे; कर रहा है मुझे मजबूर

क्या करू, इस कश्मकश में उलझा है दिल, जले मोरा जिया ।

क्या करू समझ न आए, मुझसे रूठ गए हैं मेरे पीया ।

हरियाली बिना

अब के बरस न कोयल कुकेगी,

न तोते उड़ेंगे, न पंछी, न चिड़िया चेहकेंगी,

अब कभी न बहार आयेगी, न फूल खिलेंगे ।

वोह डालियां, जो फूलों के भार से झुक जाया करती थी, लुप्त हो गई;

अरे पत्ते ही नहीं, तो ठंडी हवा कैसे आयेगी ?

बस, एक बड़ी सी इमारत, बड़ी बड़ी दीवारें दिखेगी ।

जो हरा भरा पेड़ों का परदा था, वहां मानव शक्ले दिखेगी ।

इन पेड़ों के बिना, गिलहरियां अब कैसे और कहां खेलेगी ?

अब न कागा काऊ काऊ करके मेहमानों के आनेकी खबर सुनाएगा ।

ऐसा क्यों होने दिया तूने ओ दाता ?

प्राणवायु की कमी होगी और तापमान बढ़ेगा;

तेरी धरा रो रही है, और मेरा दिल भी है उदास ;

ऐतबार

किस पे करें हम ऐतबार ? तोड़ा है अपनो ने ही उसे बार बार;

था जिन पे पूरा विश्वास, उन्हों ने ही उसे, बनाया एक व्यापार ।

ऐसा क्या हुआ, की अपनों ने ही ठुकराया हमें लगातार ।

सोचता हूं, पैसों के लिए, रिश्तों को मिटा कर कैसे मिलेगा उन्हें करार

किसी को था अपना अहम प्यारा, उन्हें, अहम को रखना था बरकरार ।

कोई तो गुस्से में आकर, तीर चलाकर; कर गया हमपर, शब्दों का वार ।

आंसु और दर्द, इस नाजुक दिल और जिगर को मिलें बार बार, लगातार ।

पर अब तक हमें, क्यू आदत नहीं हुई, इन अश्कों को पीने की बार बार ?

अब तो दर्द से रिश्ता बना लिया है हमने; शायद खुशी तोड़ना चाहे उसे एक बार !

गीत पूरा होते ही, तोड़ दिए हमने अपने हाथों से ही, अपनी सितार के तार

इतना होने पर भी, सीख न सके व्यापार; शायद इसी लिए मिलती हैं हमें जीवनमे हार ।

FRUSTRATION

Decided I have, now onwards, at peace n to happy remain

Even at the cost of remaining ignorant and sometimes, a wee bit insane.

Politics n news dishearten one's heart n mind, away from these I will remain

Negativity, fights, ego clashes, jealousy, misunderstandings are causes main.

Everything disturbs me pollution, environment, draught or too much rain;

Rapes, injustice, chopping trees, accidents be they on  road, in air or train.

Leaking taps, wastage of water, withering plants get me down, it does pain;

Oh, so poor, how very poor, these very rich millionaires are.
Feed they cannot a poor; but squander money they do, at a bar.

Jeans they wear, torn ones; n pay in thousands; in cash hard.
Or faded ones they buy, which normally one should discard.

These rich-poor, wear beads, of muli-colours, like the tribal.
Which the really poor, afford cannot, gold n silver; hence wear them as jewelry-bridal.

Their hair they cut in ways funny n beards long grow.
In fashions weird, a lot of money, they waste or throw.

The unfortunate part is, they call themselves fashionable, elite, setting a trend;
In reality, they blindly follow fashion, driving their parents, round the bend.

Feel I, wear we should, what suits us, comfortable with appealing looks.
Not just blindly follow fashion magazines and books.

Treasure I very dearly , my little corner green

From pollution and dust, I try to keep it clean

It grants me peace; n feel here I calm n serene.

Love here I, to sit and relax on my quaint swing;

Listening to music; along with it, I often sing.

Suddenly a very familiar figure, at dusk I saw;

Thought I, " is it really her, or is it a visual flaw ?"

Beautiful, lean with tresses very long,  she used to be !

But knew my heart, as it throbbed aloud, " it is she," I said with glee.

Her silhouette that I cherished in my memory was perhaps long gone;

The colourful maiden I knew, was now grey n fawn.

A plump figure I saw, most unlike her; yet I knew it was her !

On seeing this silhouette, deep within me there was a stir.

Changed with years had the silhouette I lovingly carried.

Yes, it was indeed the very same person, I cherished !!!

Now she emerged, in a different figure, form and shape;

But how would that matter; her heart was the same; body had a different shape

Ran across I did, to take her in my loving arms.

My very own silhouette, with her many virtues n charm.

Hearing all this, I really pity you, sweet little girl;

A leader, be should dedicated n honest to the core;

Not the one who clings to a chair or wishes to increase his personal score;

The one that we today desperately need; O Ahura, send us Your son.

Thought a dog, though they bark like me, mankind is very far from being faithful

Wondering was a cat, they have enough food, yet, just like me, they steal

A fox said, " I am shocked! Men are much more cunning than I am, n most ungrateful too"

A croc felt disgusted, when he saw a man attacking another, stabbing his back

A Chamillion was amazed; *** how can a man change so many colors n that too, so efficiently n quickly!!!

We seriously need to rethink n reconsider; is this our decline??? Shouldn't we improve???

गुलिस्तां

आओ चलो , हम कुछ कर दिखाए,

भारत को एक बड़ा चमन, एक गुलिस्तां बनाए ।

पेड़ों की शाखें फूलों, फलों और सब्जियों से लचे ।

हर टेहनी , हर डाल पे असंख्य फूल फल सजे ।

गुलिस्तां में आए हर फल, फूल, सब्जियोंसे हर पौधा लचे ।

कोई मानव, जानवर या पक्षी भूखा न रहे;

और न कोई इंसान या जानवर, कातिल गरमी सहे ।

पेड़ों की छाव से मिलेगी ठंडक और मस्त हवा के झोंके ।

गर इंसान एक बार निर्णय ले ले, तो कोई ताकत उसे न रोके ।

चलो, बारिश का पानी बचाएं और वृक्ष उगाए ।

चलो अपनी इस धरा को,  भारत माता को एक गुलिस्तां बनाए ।

I don't show it openly, but I am still drowned in this sorrow

Your words in my ears constantly ring, "I  don't want to die, I want to live for you "

I  told you to fight it (death); but I guess, death overpowered you.

Dearest, stay blessed in Heaven;  and may you, to realms higher rise

From there, guide us please and constantly give us your advise.

No one knows when reunions take place; no one knows that date;

But, I hope it is soon time for me to join all of you, I eagerly that day await.

A Pathetic Reality

Heard I, about this couple elderly, now sadly on the street.

Rich n prosperous they once were, now deprived of every bit.

Once they too were able bodied, absolutely fine,  healthy n fit.

Just now looked they shabby, emaciated, hardly able to sit.

Their sons vanquished them had; lived they now on tiny *** bit(s).

Swollen were their faces tearful; and so were their old feet.

Puzzled  and   shocked they looked, beyond their wits.

A social worker now took them to a home for the aged, in transit.

With help from a legal team, got back they, their every bit.

Now their palatial villa is a comfortable home for the aged, cushy n sweet.

Adopted the social worker, they have; n threw away their kids, like ****.

They serve the needy with love n care; now besides them sit.

Try they, to independent make them; to live fine and fit.

Changed their pathetic reality this worker; this story is now a big hit.

હતાશ થઈ ગઈ હતી એ નાજુક નમણી બાલા, દુઃખ થતું એને અસહય

જ્યારે પરણી હતી એ, ત્યારે હતી એ નાદાન, કૂણી હતી એની વય

પતિની જીભ હતી કાતિલ અને કડવી; હતો એ વેહમી, અને  હતી એ, અતિ નિખાલસ

બધાં સાથે નિર્દોષભાવે, બે બોલ હસીને બોલતી, આં જ એનો ગુનો હતો બસ

કોશિશ કરી હતી દિલોજાનથી, સાસરીયાના રંગમાં ઢળવા, પણ ઘવાતું હતું એનું સ્વમાન

બિચારીને કરતાં એ હાડમાર, ઘાયલ થતાં એના દિલ, આત્મા સળગી ઉઠતા એના કાન

વિચારતી હતી એ, કે પતિ છે કે દુઃખ આપવાનું કોઈ યંત્ર, ઘાયલ થતો એનો આત્મા

વિચારતી એ કે શું ઈશ્વર છે; અને હોય તો શું બહેરો છે એનો પરમાત્મા?

થાકી ગયી હતી એ, સાંભળી તાના એના, માની લીધી હતી એને હાર

કરતી તો બી એ અરજ ભગવાનને, "હે કનહાઈ સુધાર મારા પતિનો વ્યવહાર"

प्रीत मेरी पावन, जैसे गंगा जल।
अति कोमल और अत्यंत निर्मल ।
प्रीत में, कहा आता है कभी बल;
वोह तो है समर्पण, सालो का, न के एक पल।

प्यार हो जाता है तो बस एक पल में।
औेर बस जाता है, तन, मन,  हृदय में।
जनमो का यह नाता, जोड़ता है क्यू विधाता ?
और सोचती हूं मैं, क्यों फिर जुदाई देता है दाता ?

प्रीत की रीत है अनोखी, जलता है खुशी से परवाना
और दुख में डूब कर, गाता है कोई हृदय स्पर्श गाना।
शायर, नशेमे शूमके, लिख देता है नमूनेदार शायरी
और कोई लिखता है खुद की डायरी।

"प्रीत किए दुख होए", कहता है प्रेमी, हरएक ।
फिर भी जलने के लिए तैयार है प्रेमी हरएक ।
बस देता है हरएक प्रेमी, दुआए प्रीतम को
झंखता है वोह अपने प्रीतम के संग, साथ को ।

ભુખ

હોય છે માનવીને જાત જાત, અને  ભાત ભાતની ભુખ; ઘણી વિશેષ અથવા વિચિત્ર પણ હોય છે અમુક

હર એક પ્રાણીને હોય છે કોઇ નેે  કોઇ ભુખ; સૌથી વધુ જોવા મળે  છે, પેટનો ખાડો પૂરવાની ભુખ

પણ અમુક લોકોને હોય છે ઠૂસી ઠૂસી ને ખાવાની ટેવ, થોડાથી પેટ ભરાય નહિ, જોઇએ અસંખ્ય બુક.

દૌલતની ભુખને લીધે તો લડી પડે છે ભાઈ બહેન, બંધુ-સખા; બદલાઇ જાય છે સંબંધો, એવી હોય છે ઝેરિલિ એ ફુંક.

શૌરતની બી  હોય છે ભુખ ઘણાને , બનવું છે કોઇ ને જગમાં ઉત્તમ અને શ્રેષ્ઠ; બીજાને કહેવું છે, " તું મારી સામે ઝુક "

કોઇ પ્રેમીઓ ને છે પ્રેમ ની ભુખ પ્યાસ, પ્રીતમના  પ્યાર ની હૂંક, લાગે એમને મીઠી, જાને કોયલની હોય એ  કુંક

સૌથી હાનિકારક છે સત્તાની, ખૂરશીની ભુખ, આં પ્રાપ્ત કરવા  માસુમોના લોહી રેડાવે છે લોકો અમુક.

તતોળ, ઝનઝોડ તારા  આં  સુસ્ત અંતર મન ને, ઓ મુર્ખ માનવ

જો તું ઉઠીશ નહિ તો, ખેંચી લેશે તને એની તરફ, પેલો પાજિ દાનવ.

જાગ અને જગાડ તારું અંતર મન; નહિ તો  થઈ જશે તું  બરબાદ

વાચકો છે હર કવિ ના પ્રેરણા સ્તોત્ર, આપે જે કવિ ને પ્રોત્સાહન.

એમની પ્રશંસા વાંચી, લખવાનો આવે ઉમંગ;  પ્રફુલ્લિત થાય મારું મન.

તો વાંચક મિત્રો, સદા બની રેહજો મારી પ્રેરણા;  લખવાનો આવશે આનંદ.

વિચારો નવા આવશે તમારી પ્રેરણાથી, કરીશ જેવી હું કોશિષ, કરીને આંખો બંધ.

મન માં હોય સદા દીન
ય ઝ દ / માં સરસ્વતી નો  વાસ, જ્યારે લખવાનો કરું હું પ્રયાસ.

હાથો પકડી લખાવે એ, મારી પાસે, એવી છે મને ઊંડી આશ, અને વિશ્વાસ.

પૂનમ નો ચાંદ ખીલ્યો છે પુર બહાર માં, આજે આકાશ માં.

પણ દેખતો નથી ક્યાંયે, મારો ચાંદ, કાશ એ બી આવે નજર !

ઓ ચાંદ આકાશના, મારા ચાંદ ને આપજે પ્રેમ સંદેશો મારો;

કેહજે, સમજાવજે મારી સ્થિતિ એને, કે ઇન્તેઝાર છે મને તારો.

વક્ત રેહતા આવી જજે, આંખો બંધ થાય એ પહેલાં દર્શન આપજે

રસ્તો ભલે હોય મુશ્કિલ અને કઠણ, પણ તું નીડર થઈ કાપજે.

DRASTIC CHANGE

Things have so drastically changed in last twenty-four hours

Learn I will have to, to see your picture, around which there will be flowers

From a live wire, a photograph, become you have; just a steady dot.

So many changes occurred have, account them, I simply cannot

Numbness has me enveloped, yet my feelings I am trying to pour

43 years of married life and 45 years of association is the long score

How to react to this or it accept; I really don't know, what to do

It will be most difficult to live without you, but I will have to.

Perhaps with my writing, my passion, try I will to myself keep busy

But know I very well, life without you is not going to be easy.

Where has gone our standard high ?

Our standard so low why has become

High very was our dedication n fervour

Sacrifices readily we gave , most willingly

To  achieve  Independence was a task easy not,  

Dedication n a  burning desire it required

We gave it all, most willingly too

What then happened to our character, why this decline

Let's bounce back before  75, Mother  INDIA turns to.

Revive let us that  spirit,  let it fade  not.

Build back our character let us, once again.

That  DEDICATION N FERVOUR has to be  revived

Oh my heart,

Take me very easily n often, you do into the past

Slide there easily I do, and many times, pretty fast

For, to re-live those golden days wonderful, is a blast !

Wish often I do, to them into fine toys or idols cast

And hope I do, these days, for ever would last.

Oh that closeness with friends, in this world so vast

Those innocent chats, peals of laughter should long last.

Most of us enjoy, love, n wish to live in our golden past.

ઈમાન

પૈસાથી થઇ જાય છે ભલ ભલાનું ઈમાન ડામાડોળ

બદલી નાખે લોકો પોતાના જ બોલેલા બોલ

બદલાઈ જાય છે લોકો, પહેરી લઈ એક વરુની ખોળ.

અને પોતાનું કારનામું છુપાવવા ખોલે છે એક બીજાની પોલ

ઇમાનદારીનું, સચ્ચાંઈનું, ઓછું થઈ રહ્યું છે આજે જગમાં મોલ

ઓ ખુદા, ધરા આખી ભરાઈ ગઈ છે પાપથી; તું કંઈક તો બોલ

કર મોજેજો એવો કે અમે થઈએ સદગુણી, પાળીએ તારો પડ્યો બોલ.

PRAY at Agiyaris, Temples, Churches, Mosques, Gurudwaras, Synagogues, Gurudwaras, at every meet;

PRAY that God  grants unto us lots of love n peace, may He bless us with wisdom n not just wit.

Dedicated to my dearest Aunt, Dr. N D Motashaw, a living legend. 


You were always, dearest Aunty, from childhood, my idol image 


Wondered I always,  how did you such inhumanly hectic schedules manage!


Your dedication, your  expertise, grit, were uncopararable, beyond my imagination !


Hardly ever could you,  a family function attend or go for a  movie or for a  vacation. 


Endlessly you worked, long hours, deliveries,  surgeries, OPDs, lectures,  conferences !


Patients came from far and wide, with  notes from  their Docs. or with references .


Grabbing a meal in your car, when being driven from hospital one, to another


In spite of all that pressure, your confident, dimpled smile was an aspect other.


A book I could write, if I, details mention about you n your work, that would be, my real wealth. 


But I end, with loads of love, warm hugs and all good wishes, specially good health.

People don't normally care about who you actually are

They check how useful in their lives, to them, you are

To people most, your money, chair and position matter;

If useful to them you are, invitations to you, they scatter.

In your good books to be, try they will, their very best;

Putting you upon a pedestal high, up on a high crest.

Once their job is done, away they move from you; far away

It is entirely commercial; motive based, how long in their life, you stay.

Often after retirement, useless you are to them; merely garbage;

Insult you they may, or sarcastic be; or even show their outrage.

Outcasted you are, or royally ignored; this may hurt you no end

Remember dear readers, you will such  people meet, at every bend.
