Ravan easily proved to the world, the difference between knowledge n wisdom

His inflated ego destroyed his beautiful "Soneri Lanka", his grand kingdom

Because of his over inflated ego, pride n lust for Sita; to Ram, he lost his fiefdom

Sadly mankind has more Ravans today than Rams; under stress is this entire world

Active very are the Ravans, whereas cool n calmly sit Rams, all curled

If this knowledgeable Ravan, wise was, he wouldn't, at Ram, have insults hurled.

Help me O Ahura, to a balanced mind possess; sans jealousy, ego n pride

Help me please to wise be; n to my self-respect maintain, even smiling, with tears dried

Grant me to attain the peace n happiness for which I have strived n also often cried

માતા પુટલીબાઈ ની, આંખોની પૂતળીઓ સમાન હતો તું

પિતા કરમચંદે, નિસ્વાર્થ કર્મ કરતાં શીખવ્યું તુઝને

મોહનદાસ, સાચેજ હતો તું મોહન નો, કૃષ્ણ નો દાસ

ત્યજી સર્વસ્વ, સત્યના પ્રયોગથી, આપ્યું તે અમને સ્વરાજ

કદી કર્યો નહીં લોભ સત્તાનો, કદી ન ચાહ્યું તે તાજ

સ્નેહ અને સન્માનથી, પ્રેમ અને આદરથી યાદ કરીએ તને આજ

Let's be firm; let China crib, play games *****, or huff and puff

Please be firm, do not buy their lights, lamps or items decorative

Few Fireworks, means less pollution; please take this important initiative

Know we all, honey is indeed very sweet; but my Lataji's voice was even sweeter than honey

In fact the sweetest voice on our planet was her's; exchange it India wouldn't for loads of money.

Every year, I sent you a poem on your Prabhu Kunj address; this time, I am confused, absolutely clueless

But offer you my devotion, reverence n love; requesting Maa Sarasvati, to you bless.

Pleased and happy will be the Gods n Goddesses to have our nightingale up there, with them;

For what more can one wish for, when with them, they have the Kohinoor, a precious most gem.

BRANDY'S ROYAL RESORT

Our Brandy, our puppy, our lil imp, so very docile and innocent looks, at the first glance

But sneaks in she does very quietly into the washroom, whenever she gets a chance

Enjoying a shower, drinking water alongside; then to dry up, she does a shake (off) dance.

Our washroom is her territory,  her mansion, her resort; if around n someone is in, she loudly does bark.

Into it, she quickly glides, rather darts, even pushing us in the bargain; just like a little ferocious shark

Equally possessive she is about her bed; running behind kids, when they try to make it; once it's dark

BRANDU, OUR ANGEL *** IMP, WE LOVE YOU.

સ્વીકાર

જેટલું જલ્દી શીખી શકાય તેટલું જલ્દીથી શીખી લે તું, ઓ મન મારાં;

ભલે તું ન માને, પણ સમજી લે, આં સ્વાર્થી જગતમાં પોતીકા કમ છે, અને લાખો લોકો છે પરાયાં

તારાં દિલ-દિમાગ તો ઘણાં લોકોને પોતીકા માને છે, પણ એ બધાં નથી તારાં

દુઃખમાં સાથ આપે કોઈકજ, બીજાં તો  સુખમાંજ બનીને રહેશે  તારાં

ખોલ આંખો તારી, ખોટી આશા ન બાંધ, દુઃખ આવે ત્યારે પોતાના થઈ જાય છે પરાયાં

હકીકત છે જે, તે કરી લે તું સ્વીકાર, સચ્ચાંઈ ને અપનાવી, આપ તું એને આવકાર

બાકીની જિંદગી, એકલતામાં જીવવા, રહે તું તૈયાર; કરી લે આં સચ્ચાંઈ સ્વીકાર

તારી જવાબદારીઓ, તારી વૃદ્ધાવસ્થા, તારાં દુઃખો, હવે છે તારે માટે, એક પટકાર !

સતત યાદ રહે તને આં વાત, બે ત્રણ માનવોને છોડી, બીજાં હવે સમઝે છે તને બેકાર

સચ્ચાંઈ સ્વીકારવા, પોતાના અને પારકમાં અંતર સમઝવા, શીદ લાગે છે તને આટલી વાર?
