I awake
to the
morning
dawn
to serve
you,
my prayers
to the
sunrise
echo of
you,
and the
troubled
roads that
you may
find on
your way .
I lie
down
before
you.
I take
back the
jagged
stones that
rise to
cut your
feet,
that lie like
pirate
robbers
in wait
along
your path.
I lay
smooth
the brown
rubble
stones
of doubt
and fear
that rise
to blind
your eyes,
and shatter
your dreams
to the
earth like
broken
shards
of glass.
and at
days end,
I sit
to wash
your feet
and kiss
your smile
and shed
the sin
and misled
promises
of life
from your
dreams,
that this
broken
world has
laid
upon you.
so in
this journey
you are
never alone.
and I
will always
be the
one who
kneels
and
awaits
patiently
for you.
till the
sun runs
out of
light,
till your
weary
bones
grow tired
and dry.
and retire
to their
final rest,
till the
end of
the road
is done.
till the
colors in
your eyes
all run
dry.
