you are
'my balance

you never
let me
fall,,

you see
the light
and dark
within me,

you endure
my life's
changing
seasons
without
question
or hesitation.

and in
your eyes
I feel
your unending
trust,

and in
my eyes
you feel
that trust
returned.

and in
your heart
I love
with
purpose,

and by
the letter
God's
eternal
plan.

we are
lives
in the
balance

you
and I,

and with
each
breath
that we
take

we become

so much
more
than we were
before.

and for us
my love

forever

is but another

moment

in our
lives.

(on a day when patty was ill)

And I will
sit diligently
and fill  these
moments with
prudence and
salvation,

in the empty chair
next to
your bed.

I will tend to you
as a garden
inside my heart
and let
your roots
grow deep,

and in
the moments
that you sleep.

I will dream
of you,

with you
until
you awake.

and you
are well.

and in a
moment that
you might stir

you will
always open
your eyes
to find me
there.

the universe poem

we laugh
and dance
under
the same
sky,

we share
the same
blood
,

in the
children
that we
raise,

gifts from
heaven
given
in great
faith,

from God
to the
mother
to the
father,

to our
hearts
and souls.

the reflection
of our
youth
in their
eyes,

the promise
of our
future in
their days
to come.

they grow
and take
with them
all that
is me
and all that

is you.

but the best
parts
will be
mostly of
you,

because
you are
the center
of our
universe,

and to
you we
will always
love.

like clouds
to sky,

stars to
black.

without
you.

we would

surly die.

And on

your birthday

God

handed you

to me,

and I felt

unworthy.

no matter

of fate

could bring

such a

perfect child

here to

me.

and our

stars were

from that

moment

crossed,

and  my heart

became full

of you.

and dinosaurs

and sci-fi

movies and

sports would

be the

stories of

our lives.

and evening

prayers of

faith would

be our

canopy.

and your

worldly travels

would fill

your dreams,

and I would

grow old

and you

would constantly

make me

feel loved,

cause even

in the

greatness of

the man

you have

become,

always in

your eyes

I still

see my

child.

and that

is the

greatest

moment

in my

life ,

that I

have ever

come to

know.

Last week

seven of my

children were

all together for

the first time

in along

time,

.

and as

each one

came into

the room

to greet me.

I felt my roots

grow

deeper and

deeper to

the center

of the

universe.,

and in

their smile

I saw the

smile of

my father,

the smile

of my

mother.,

and as

I drank

in their

laughter

I became

drunk with

life.

and when

night fell

I looked up to

the heavens

took a deep

breath into

my soul.

then I

memorized

every star

and shimmer.

up above

my head,

and I knew

and I

was certain

I had finally

found my

place in

the universe.

caught a smile
of you in
my mind today,

and it was
like my last
memory of
you,

was happening
right before
my eyes.

and everything
in life
was pure,

and  the kiss
upon your
lips was
just for
me.

and all
my souls
seasons
fell into
one,

and the
clouds in
the sky
were everything
in my eyes.

and you
in my
heart.

and love
was old
and it was
new.

and my soul
was sky
and you took
me with you.

today and
all of
our days
that might
follow.

and it was
easy to
see everything
in me

is you...

Through the
marrow of
my bones
I do love
you,

where it
is the purest
white.

in the
heart of
the deepest
black night
do I see
you,

and surrender
to your black
smoked eyes.

and as you
lie open
and waiting.

for the
taste of
us.

I feel it.

and wonderland
is not for
children
anymore..

we have become
the sunrise
and the sunset
in our
lives.

the Romeo
and Juliet
of the dreams
tucked
underneath
our bedroom
pillows.

nothing
reminds me
of my life
before you.

you have
changed all
of that.

we carve
the rivers
edge ,

and forever is
just up ahead
within reach,

of our first kiss

tonight.

With our love
what I have
found and what I
have left
behind,

we are
the sum total
of everything
in my
universe.

that night
you walked
away in
shadows
like a stray
alley cat off
to look for
a tasty morsel.

and I was all
for the less
for it,

and you
have wandered
in and
out of
half empty
beds every since,

even back into
mine now
and then.

drunk in
the night
wondering
when anything
good might
come out
of this.

and now
30 years
of our love
has left
you,

and the color
of your
amber eyes
have gone
dark.

but you were
a child once,

and then
you grew
it all away
to runaway
from all
consequences.

and my arms
that just
wanted to
hold you.

and love.

now  time
is not
your friend
anymore

and our love
has left
your bones
cold and
old.

and what
will become
of you..

only God
surely knows.

Still water
resting
at the
bottom
of a
Pacific ocean
tide
pool,

reflections
of you
in my
mind
in the
Sunday
morning
light.

sometimes
I can imagine
I hear you
laughter
carried in
harmony
to me
on a
a salt-kissed
circling
wind.

and I
sit for
a moment
and smile.

I always
smile.

it is
a giving
thing that
you do.

your gentle
manner
of truth
and innocence.

I can always
feel it
there in
you eyes...

you are

Just because I don’t have ashes on my head
Doesn’t mean I don’t celebrate Lent
I do not go to church at all
Yet I pray everyday
We all have different ways
Of showing our
Faith
