I am elusive
Transparent
Hard to find
Sometimes I disappear into the night
Sometimes I look like a ghost
A vapor barely there
I can be the light mist in the wind
Touching your cheek
I am truly invisible

I can be a shadow on the wall
A faint outline of a person
Almost disappearing
Almost not there
But there

I am elusive
Hard to pin down
Always moving to and fro
I am a phantom
A ghost
I am the dream that is not real
That disappears when you wake
The butterfly you cannot keep
The sunset that leaves
A moment in time that passes

I am elusive
Never really there
At all
I am elusive
Transparent
Hard to find
Sometimes I disappear into the night
Sometimes I look like a ghost

I can be the light mist in the wind
Touching your cheek

Burning embers sitting amongst the wood
From time to time a gold blue flame emerges
The wood crackles against the heat
The glow is calming to the spirit
The smell enticing like a natural perfume
It’s hypnotic to watch
As the wood continues to burn
Thé embers glow a red orange color
With a slight stream of smoke
That reaches up towards the sky
Empty streets where I live
No signs of life except for a cat or two
Every now and then a bird flies by
Deathly quiet

Empty streets where I live
Going on for miles in any direction
People staying inside
To protect themselves and others

Empty streets where I live
All over the world now
In cities and towns
Humanity has been put on hold
Huge sacrifices being made
By everyone

Empty streets where I live
Never been done before
It’s a first for all of us in the world
Hopefully someday soon
They will start to fill again
When life slowly returns
To a new normal

Empty streets where I live
Imagine walking through the snow into a forest full of pine trees
The scent is calming
As you stop amongst the trees
All you hear is the silence
A slight cool breeze rustles through the trees
Snow left on the branches gently falls  to the ground
As they hit your coat and face, they rest for just a moment before melting
An owl sits up high on one of the branches looking down at you and the world all around
It’s a precious moment
Enchanted wintertime night
Imagine walking through the snow into a forest full of pine trees
As you stop amongst the trees, all you can hear is the silence
A slight cool breeze rustles through the trees moving the limbs

Enchanted wintertime night

Snow left on the branches gently falls down to the ground
As they hit your coat and face, they sit for a moment before melting
An owl sits up high on one of the branches looking down at you and the world all around

Enchanted wintertime night
The start of a new week
End of the weekend
A new beginning
A fresh start
For some it’s dreaded
For others it’s a look forward
Cities clean up
Streets swept
Getting ready for a new week
Stores replenish their stock
Employees return
It’s time to get busy
And start anew
When hope is lost
Heavy darkness settles in
Light diminishes
The idea of tomorrow fades
We feel mired down in muck
Hope

When hope is lost
People lose their north
They lose their sense of purpose
Seeking any sliver of light to lift them
To show them the way
Seeking anything to inspire
Hope

When hope is lost and darkness comes
We hunger for the light
We tire of the heaviness
We long for hope
Hope

When hope returns
We lift ourselves up
We seek the light
Want to stand in the sun
And never leave
Let the light and warmth heal
Hope

When hope returns
We have a can do feeling
We believe once again
We are willing to try
We offer a hand
We smile brightly
Laughter can be heard
Hope

When hope returns
We are inspired
We can create
Music gets louder
People dance

Esperanza
Soft breezes caress my face as the sun drops down for another night leaving a hint of red glowing against the sky. The plants sway back-and-forth gently, as if they’re doing a slow dance with each other. The sound of traffic in the background is a form of music as the city gets ready for another night. The air is clear and refreshing. It feels good to breathe as the heat for the day is gone.

With My cat at my feet lying comfortably on the terrace floor signaling that another evening is coming and it will be time soon for rest and peace.
It’s time to embrace the night in all its glory.
Even though you are tired climb to the top of the mountain
Even though you are worn down -- keep going
Even though you hurt keep living
Climb to the top
See the world
See everything
Climb walk run
Never stop
Even though you are tired
Live
Breathe
See
Feel
Even though you are tired
Take just one more step

Your destiny awaits

Sometimes we are left out
Excluded
Forgotten
Or treated differently
Than others
We may be given less
Or cared about less
Because of who we are
Or what we are
Or where we come from
But that doesn’t mean
It’s true
Because no matter
Where or what
We are all the same
Even if our language
Is different
Our beliefs
Our home
We come from
The very same place
And will eventually return there
Yet exclusion happens
It hurts
The spirit
The mind
And the heart
I exist
Therefore I am
In this world
However
Am I living
Or just treading water
Avoiding negativity
Hiding from
confrontation
Am I separate
Disconnected
From the world

I exist
But do I live fully
In each moment
Or just go through
Each day
Almost robotic
In movement
I’ve lost my joy
Of life
I find solace
In peace and quiet
I exist
But do not live
As the the facade fades away like a coat being taken off for the night what lies underneath is a beating heart where the soul and spirit reside
Take off your coat and lay it down for a rest
Let me feast upon your heart for a while and feel pure bliss
You bring peace and hope into my life
You calm the stormy waters
You are faith
Believe
As the semblance of a facade fades away like a coat being taken off for the night what lies underneath is a beating heart where the soul and spirit truly reside
Take off your coat and lay it down for a rest
It will be there
When you need it
Let me feast my eyes upon your heart for a while and see you
See who you really are
Let me listen to your heart and soul as they play the music of you
You are beautiful
You are unique
You are treasured

Sometimes we may fail
We may even feel like a failure
We may fall down or not meet expectations
Ours or others
But if we try, including new things are we?
As long as we get up and try again

People judge others all the time
Holding them up to their standards
Whether they are appropriate or not
How can one truly know about another
Without being in their shoes

If we take a risk and try something
If we reach beyond our means
If we find our own way
Even if different and unique
If we define ourselves based on our choices
Are we a failure?
It’s in the eye of the beholder
Especially ours

Every night
Fairies arrive
They are tiny creatures
Almost invisible
They have very delicate wings
Like a hummingbird
They have existed for all time
They come to the believers
All over the world
To grant their wishes and dreams
While they sleep
They sprinkle magic dust on them
Made of silver and gold
To bring sweet dreams and protection
As night ends they return to their land
Awaiting the next night
Every night
Fairies arrive
They come from far away
They are tiny creatures
Almost invisible
They have delicate wings
Beautiful really
Like a hummingbird
They have always existed
Since the beginning
They come to the believers
All over the world
To grant their wishes and dreams
While they sleep
They sprinkle magic dust over them
Made of silver and gold
To bring sweet dreams and protection
As night ends they leave
Returning home

You are a fairytale
Like what is written in books
A true prince in every way
When I look at you I can hardly believe it
That after all this time I am here
With you

When I first met you
I couldn’t believe you were real
You were handsome
You were exotic
You were the epitome of perfection
You dazzled like a gemstone
You are rare like a fine wine

Together we became a miracle
Together we fit
You were my puzzle piece
I was yours

And over time
We became a fairytale
We still are
You are a fairytale
Like what is written in books
A true prince in every way
When I look at you I can hardly believe it
That after all this time I am here
With you

We all have a destiny, a path to follow in our lives

Faith

If we are quiet, and pay attention, we will know what to do when, and where

Faith

The path is lit with a very special light to help guide us on our way

Oh how I miss the fall
The crimson time
I miss everything about it
In some ways it is a fresh start
It is my favorite season
I miss the colors
The regal essence of it
The trees dress up in splendor
With reds
Yellows
Oranges and golds

There is a smell of leaves on the ground
The sound of leaves crunching as you walk on them
The sound of raking
Big piles of leaves in yards

The crisp clear air
The cool night
Leaves rustling in the breeze

Smells of pumpkin cookies and pies

Cinnamon, apple cider and
hot chocolate
Halloween decorations and candy corn

Oh how I miss the beauty of the trees and countryside as the colors dabble the landscape like a painting
Fall breezes blowing
Dark gray skies
Decorate
The sun hides
For a late entrance
Bright colored leaves
Red, orange and yellow
Tease the senses
Smells of fallen leaves abound
Rustling in the wind
Some clinging to their branches

Chimes ringing in the wind faintly
Playing their own muted tune
Warming up the heart

Tea and apple cider brewing
Pies in the oven
As the temperature drops winter is not far behind
It’s a glorious season
Fall breezes blowing
Dark gray skies
Decorate
The sun hides for a late entrance
Bright colored leaves
Red, orange and yellow
Tease the senses
Smells of fallen leaves abound
Rustling in the wind
Some clinging to their branches

Chimes ringing in the wind faintly
Playing their own muted tune
Warming up the heart

Tea and apple cider brewing
Pies in the oven

As the temperature drops winter is not far behind
Fall breezes blowing across my face
Tempting me
Like a gentle lover
Dark grey skies set the tone for the day

Bright colored leaves dot the landscape
Red, orange and yellow
Like previous jewels

Rustling in the wind
With a hypnotic sound
Hugging to their branches
Some falling to the ground

Chimes ringing in the wind
Playing their own muted tune

The music of the season
Fall breezes blowing
Dark gray skies
Decorate
The sun hides for a late entrance
Bright colored leaves
Red, orange and yellow
Tease the senses
Smells of fallen leaves abound

It’s that time of year
The light has changed
Ever so slightly
From summer to fall light
The suns brightness less intense

It’s that time of year
The light has changed
From summer to fall light
The air is crisper
The nights cooler

It’s that time of year

The beauty of fall is coming

The rose colored city all dressed up in pink with a European flair
Exotic colors and looks
Cafes everywhere with people sipping coffee slowly
Tourists walking about exploring

Hypnotic breezes blowing
Palm trees and mountains adorn
Orange trees line the streets
Purple blossoms on jacaranda trees
Scents wafting through the air
Fantasy city, are you real??
