All I know
Is how
I feel

And sometimes I
Wish I
Knew nothing

i still remember
the first time i saw
the October sun
when it hit your hazel eye
the rivers of gold arise
and my love fires

can I say it was true?
like the feeling like your hand on mine
can I love you greatly
and stay fine?
i don't want to hurt you
because I know I can
I just hope you know
it was never really right

Golden

Two blocks away
between the houses
the sunset smolders golden
through an oak

Cold creeps behind it
-

There were five of us working late
when i saw this creature crawling
rapidly across the concrete floor-

one of the employees counted the
legs on its right side, he said there
were seven-teen of them–

more than enough
to carry all of us

We left it be to continue its destiny
in this place where we must make
our living as everything else dies
outside in a midnight autumn frost

A curious distraction,
this singularity —

moving about thirty-four
steps per second in the
midst of a ten hour shift...

a nightshift moment
circa 2011
She had that
octopus smile,
always reaching for
something.
I was her small
fish; her handmaid.
I lived in her nebulous
world for far too long.
Inky confusion...

There's a reason for
your treason, said the
old man to the shark,
but Hem forgot, a beast
is a beast, they do
beastly things.
We all have to eat.

I'm done being the
meal.
It's your Ocean,
I'm just trying to
swim in it.

You're an oyster,
and I want your
pearl,
but I won't drown
for it.
