He sent me a message
and he said that he was a Kiwi
yes, it is my favourite fruit
but I guess they are seedy;
Then he took me to the Lakeside
where we talked under starlight
It was half-past one in grasmere
when he asked if I was tight
He took me to the bedroom
where he watched my clothes fall
He said that I was beautiful
and that I had it all
I guess I didn't realise
he would be serving me breakfast
Because he worked at the hotel
that we had just ****** in

You said it wasn't you
but it was you that I ran from
You said I couldn't love you
but I've got my 'Ray's on

The sun has opened up
I'll split us right down the middle
I won't sign away my life
So I'll write it in riddle

A19
It's was the end of a summer
That I had spent in the rain
I was dressed for forever
And you just the same

We were pushing a hundred
On the A19
Until we crashed into traffic
And it had all been a dream

I don't remember
all of the night
but I remember our bodies
by a window of starlight

and if by morning
you can remember my name
I'll forget all of the reasons
why we actually came

The thing that scares me
is not where I'll be
but what I'll never become
if I don't save me

The theme of this city
Is what darkens the lights
When it's almost dawn
As we play cat and mouse

The tone of the evening
Won't ever be read
Because we will sleep all day
Together in bed

I felt as pure as the sea
And as soft as the sand
The day we walked down the pier
At quarter past five

We sat on a bench
With your hand in mine
It never looked as perfect
The mouth of the Tyne
