disintegrated because
of lack thereof.

I blushed
when
Kate complimented
me,
because I'm
not
used to
people
appreciating my
work.

I'll never forget the day
we loaded the car
and left town
forever.
Each of us
uncertain what the future held,
knowing the only way to move
is forward.
I'm proud of my Mom
she didn't have
any money,
a job,
or a plan,
she just took my sister and me by the hand
and lead us out of Babylon.

I noticed
you
in public
today,
but I
didn't
have the
courage
to speak
up.

A cracked
radiator
in your
car
is a
minor
setback, but
still

it keeps
us
from each
other;

and we're
lonely.

I once knew a guy,
and I wanted to be just like him.
Everything he did I took notice,
making sure I'd do the same.
After a while, he figured it out,
and he stopped liking me.
I kept emulating though,
because I wanted to feel like someone else,
I could have followed anyone,
but I chose him.
In the end, I was alone
feeling confused,
and sort of betrayed
I just wanted to be like him.
Now we aren't even friends on Facebook,
here's to fallen idols!

Ms. Sharon told
me
to not get
upset,
so I stayed
calm
during my crisis;
now
it has been
averted
all because of
her.

I didn't
want
to wake
up
this morning
because
the cat
was
curled at
my
feet for
warmth.

She used
me
as a
pillow
to cry
on.

I hate that you

which I can barely

How strange
it is when
anyone
shows you
how valuable

we took classes
together and
he gave me
nothing but
affection.

catch, and

ask me out

but I wasn't

for me to

If I could describe
my first day
at work
with one word
I'd say,
overwhelming.

Hopefully, I've made a good impression,
since I came in early,
and stayed later
then I originally planned,
moving quickly on my feet
with sweat on my brow.

There was much to learn
mostly new ways to clean,
I never thought about
how dirt can accumulate
on any surface;
still, I don't know.

My co-workers went about there work,
I did my best to stay out there way,
they did the same,
I think I might have made some friends,
but it's hard to tell
because everybody tells me what to do,

what I never forgot about was
outside the restaurant
there's a whole world still to experience,
and because I have a job
I can afford to live in it
better.

I'm going to keep pushing myself
until I've broken apart,
until I've proved myself,
until I've earned my keep,
this path is my own,
no turning back.

We partook of flour tortilla tacos,

I gladly forgot them to spend time with

He shuffled through the door
and pulled up a chair at the table.
His name was Eddie,
he's from New Hampshire.
He'd traveled down the east coast
to Georgia,
and was looking for a spear part
to his car.
His clothes were *****, old, and worn-out,
evidence of his vagabond life.
A tv cable kept his pants up
instead of a belt.
Eddie's eyes were heavy from sleepless nights
spent on the road,
and  he wore a cross around his neck
because he lived on a prayer;
I don't know where he's going
or why he pulled up that chair
all I know is that for a few minutes
he was my friend
and I was his too.

I bang my fingers on a keyboard

Instead of staying
inside
my apartment all
day
I should've gone
outside
to the gym

I had
to leave
my house
last night
because of
the yelling.
I called
a friend,
he came
and picked
me up,
I slept
over at
his place.
We talked,
made cocoa,
and watched
a movie.
I fell
asleep in
the living
room on
top of
the futon.
The darkness
covered me
and I
slept in
peace under
the fake
plastic stars
attached to
the ceiling.
I woke
up this
morning with
one question
on my
mind, "Why
can't every
night end
like that?"

I went with a girl
to see a movie
and as fantastic beasts
danced across the screen,
I put my arm around her shoulder
that was a mistake,
she didn't like me in that way,
and as I dropped my arm
it was over.
I said I was sorry,
she said it was ok,
but I knew it wasn't.
I was ******* myself
and I gave up trying
for a long time.
Looking back,
I see it's just a tiny mistake
in the grand scheme called, "My life."
If I have to take a chance on anything,
then it better be for
love.

appreciate

I don't know-how

change a flat tire,
but
that fact doesn't make
me
any less of a

temper

person
who didn’t deserve
it;

me.

It's been one
year
since rescuing my
cat,
and I'm looking
forward
to being his
owner
for ages to
come.
