A girl so strong
A girl so wise
Although she is gone
Her story survives
She never gave up
She always believed
Though young and small
She wore her heart on her sleeve
When others were down
She never did frown
The hope in her heart
The faith in her mind
There's never a word that describes the you girl
To one and all she brought hope to the world
She taught in order to live
One must always believe
It must exist like they say
The poets, the artists, the drunks
For, where did it come from if not from within?

The world does not show it
For there is war and hate and malice
But there are people

It must exist like they say
The poets, the artists, the drunks
Yet I have yet to feel that euphoria

That whirlwind that everyone wants
That so few have
That even less keep

It must exist like they say
The poets, the artists, the drunks
Because I’m still counting on you.
Oh look theres something you don't see everyday
It's me
But somethings changed
There's a smile on my face,
And baby you,
Your the reason,
Your the reason I decided to change
And smile.
Two
I find it curious,
that now when I hear your favorite songs,
I can only picture you singing them.
Like nobody else's voice compares.
And I can't sing along.
I can only picture you.
In the car.
Windows down.
Driving us to the park.
Singing.
Not to me,
but to yourself.
And that's why
it was so beautiful.
So meaningful.
So innocent.

My spirit is not broken
My heart still beats the same
I'm left here in the balance
Of fears of love and pain

There's one thing that i do know
One I'm scared to admit
It has been there all along
Through my journey of regrets

I can't run any longer
No longer will I hide
It's presence just keeps getting stronger
Rising up from deep inside

I've replaced the fear that I will fall
With the fear that he won't
For so long I've stood here at the edge
Giving up, I finally jumped

No longer in that balance,
Scared of hurt and scared of love
I float here in the unknown
my hope is one thing that I trust

I don’t love you dear, because you make me laugh, or smile, and never judge.

I don’t love you friend, because you’re almost always on my side.

I don’t love you because you make kick-*** coffee drinks, or because you don’t try to understand my pain.

No friend, I don’t love you because you’ve seen me at my best and worst or because you’ve seen me high and sober.

I love you because you’ve helped me.
Because you never ask why.
Because you found a way out of the labyrinth.
Because you pushed past the pasts.
Because you hate my pain.
Because you give everything, always, even if it means you hurt.

I love you dear friend, because you’ve struggled, lost, failed, and you’re here, pushing on.

Moving Forward.

And I’ll be there; I’ll be your mother, your sister, your shoulder, your spine.
I’ll be your guide, build you up so you can keep up, keep moving.
Because, friend, I’d only be returning the favor.

Forgetting someone is like forgetting to turn off the light
in the backyard so it stays lit all the next day

But then it is the light that makes you remember.
When the heart gives in trying,
The soul withers and dies.
The nose surrenders scent,
Vision stolen from eyes.
Ears gather white noise,
The tongue only dries.
The happiness we could have,
You struggle to find.
How I wish I could pierce...
Your exquisite mind.
Why on earth would you be with me?
When you know only of living in 2D?

why is it that
when I think
I'm okay

I'm going to be okay

the smallest things
cause me to crumble.

why is it that
when I really am okay

still,
sadness lurks

in the dark alley
behind the bushes
in the corner of my room

can't you just leave me be?
Be kind to this Lady
This beautiful girl
She has a heart full of dreams
And a head full of curls

I know this because I've known her
A lifetime, before you came
When her days were spent with me
Before she ever heard your name

So please tell me you'll adore her
From this wedding to the hurst
Do everything I can't do
Because I loved her first.
