The Truth
in the company
of lies.

A Tangible force
among
vague lives.

A Renegade
observing the
herd follow.

Burgeoning
away from
the swallow.

A Square in
a round World

Am I.

Half lidded eyes discourse the truth of what they’ve seen
With a mind hidden under the blanket of a jealous god,
Who steals it away to play in an undergrowth
Of brambles and branches that tear away at the layers of sense
And leave a mass that feels and grasps for what it left behind.
Truth disjoints, the pieces fit in the wrong places,
And the jealous god laughs at the wondrous puzzle
He caused you to craft.
He says come play with me, just try to chase me away,
Just try to make that mess a mind again.
And the eyes unwittingly close, unable to fight this god,
Try as they might to tell the mind the truth.
The chaos of a thousand sights descend
To tell the truth of what they’ve seen.
But pieces still refuse to fit, the mind sees what it will
As the jealous god laughs away.
They play through the night, the mind distraught
To see these things it has not seen.
But then the soothing god spreads its banner in the sky,
And the jealous god quails and runs away.
The brambles break, the eyes begin to tell their tale anew,
And the pieces fit again.
And the mind laughs and plays with the soothing god,
Who says come play with me, I’m here for you all day,
As the jealous is kept at bay, waiting for the strong to go away,
That he might reign and play the mind a completely different way.
Written literally as I was falling asleep.

I am a raging typhoon of rampant enthusiasm
I will weave the lasting fabrics of agreement
Stitch and kiss all wounds
until everything stops bleeding for good.

You will succumb to hope
Its pure saline cascade shall cleanse you
Let me kiss each moan, until the countryside of your pain
Is coated in a shimmering rain of pleasure.

Weariness wipes away, coated like bare wood beneath white wash,
the doves sit nearby, waif children, they share their breadcrumbs,
they smile, and demure, until the worst in us all,
fades three shades towards forgotten forever.

I am here to heal you...
and into the night we ran, like animals
the lights on our ankles bounding into the half-light
excitement fizzled and cracked in our hair
we ran faster and faster and faster
I saw the edge come into view
in a split second it was right under my feet
I dropped towards the ground
my legs burning into a tightened coil
then shot into the air like a firework, spiralling
we arced our backs towards the moon
then, in that moment,
nothing,
silence
we hung in the air
I could see the ocean miles below
it was crystal clear
and blue and purple and green
so incredibly massive
A blurred division
between consciousness and reality,
this is where I dwell.
It is absolutely certain
that I've lost the line.
Someone has to pull me out.
The flames cascade across the floor
and eat me alive.
