Yesteryear's greats
Left they the universe impregnat'd with infinite wonders
Had they no regrets?
Dwells on the subject, my mind ponders

Alexander III of Macedon, Alexander the Great
Undefeat'd you in battle you were
Never conquering death as one of your states don't you regret?
Alexander McQueen was it one of your designs, death?
What of you oh kings and queens whose very thrones sat on this earth

Abraham Lincoln abolisher of slavery you were,
To death a slave became you not?
Nelson Mandela peace and humanity, that you striv'd for
With death did your peace you make ?
William Shakespeare a master in the art of words
Weave you your way past death with words did you?

Oh on your deathbed held you no regret
That all your greatness from death could not preserve you

Dwells on the subject, my mind ponders
Surely death knows no great

Am I
Am I worthy in your eye
Have I not became an enemy of thine
For they told me friendship with the world is enmity with God
Albeit the world went ahead and bought my friendship with gold
They warned me live by the sword - die by the sword
So I chose me to live by the needle
Believing I could handle the pain of a prickle

So am I
Am I worthy in your eye
Have I not became an enemy of thine
Yester-night attempted in vain to pray
Lo my soul was too frail
Carnal addictions from which I cannot refrain
Profane deeds, what benefits doth my soul gain?

Am I
Am I not the one who made a vow
To hold myself low before you in a bow
"thou shalt have no other gods",
Till in my mind money started feeding me other thoughts
"Seek ye first the kingdom",
No other words could amount in wisdom
But I chose to seek I first my own kingdom
Chose myself a life of imprisonment in riches ,
Rather than living a poverty filled freedom

So tell me am i...
Worthy am i...
An enemy of thine am i...

No, you I do not blame
It's not your fault that you are what you became

I blame it on your beauty that unwisely drove you greedy
Made you crave for attention, painted your transparent world misty
Your mind poisoned by compliments,
Your heart tainted by expensive gifts and ornaments

No, you I do not blame

I blame it on the word blame, why did it have to rhyme with your name
I blame it on the wind, for i suspect away from your mind it blew me
I blame it on everything, even on the very existence of nothing

But you, no, you I do not blame
