Parading
Masquerading
Players of the night
Ladies take flight
Promises galore
But they only want to score
The blokes keeping a tally
Bonding, getting pally
Adding up kisses
Laughing at near misses
The word respect
Has no effect
Boys will be boys
Girls their toys

I’ll do it in my own sweet time
don’t need a bribe
keep your nickle and dime
I don’t follow the tribe
I word my own rhyme
your politely worded scribe
caused me to mime
your simpering vibe
I’m swimming in slime

If you have a heart of gold
can it on poor days be sold?

Can it be melted down
take away a worried frown?

Can you sell a piece
to gain some financial release?

Does it increase in value
if its freely given to you?

Share your heart every day
you’ll find that it will pay

I’ll love you ‘til the desert freezes over
and the camels come skating home
Your always in my mind and heart
I will never roam

You complete me like strawberries and cream
life with you is a wonderful dream
imagining life without you
my heart and soul scream

I’ll love you ‘til the first Sunday
there’s no mass
worshipping you, bold as brass
your my lover and best friend
and the only one that will put up with my sass

Fizzier than a glass of coke
this handsome, captivating bloke
more refreshing than sorbet
he’s looking at me, hooray
greasier than a bag of chips
he can go straight to my hips
brighter than an orange, his smile
my phone number he can dial
back home to a healthy salad
think I’ll pen a sad ballad

Oh it’s just gorgeous outside
pale skins hide
sunworshippers basking in a lazy glow
work, troubles for a while they don’t know
cinemas, libraries emptier today
as kids want to go outside to play
natures calling
work rates falling
beer gardens, beaches
suddenly enthralling

Oh boss can we have a reprieve
Can we have sunny days leave?
Especially in this lovely Emerald Isle
where glorious sunshine only stays a while

A battered soul
broken, not whole
abused and misused
fragile, confused

Fragmented parts
splintered shards
dealt a bad hand
alone they stand

Picking up the shreds
tightening loose threads
searching for truth
courage, the root

Stronger they be
seek new company
a bright new outlook
life’s an open book
