My life,
A PLOT DEVICE
A STAGE DIRECTION
a footnote.

But at least it serves a purpose.

Oh yes I love her like Egyptian,
Want a description?
Let me clarify,
If she should die,
I’d be there for her in the afterlife.
Most men can’t fathom the love that we share.
So they clown actin’ like their lust can compare.
It’s ironic they hide behind the façade of a smile
While,
The ignorance of love’s the lonely walk of the Nile.
Even love lost is love had in the end,
Some get lost in the cost of the time that they spend…
Sated,
sometimes full,
tempestuous and raw; we shone,
howling at the moon (and one another).

Prettier with
candlelight and my reflection in your eyes,
you held me tight,
I threw back my head and screamed your name--
but I never meant it
until you walked away;

I never loved you more
than when your back was turned.

Now breathing in
early morning air and ash,
sifting through yesterday
with lyrics and a fine-toothed comb--

trying to remember
if you were ever beautiful,
other than metaphorically.

From the second I wake up it's like I'm in hell
I feel like I shouldn't belong here
As if my place was on another planet
Or six feet underground
It's unhealthy to have this kind of mindset
But then again, who the **** even cares?
I've learned that poems are like tattoos;
Using specific names just ruins the art.
But, I want to ink your name so deep into this page,
It bleeds through, and stains my heart.

I tried to stop you
like a baby deer tries to stop a freight train
so

I am grinning blood and guts at 70 miles per hour.

But it happened so fast

I still think I'm all here.
Please, please, please,
I beg, I plead,
Throw away the blades,
That make you cry
That make you bleed
Please, please please,
I need you here, I need you to stay,
I need you near
It makes me sad, that you can’t see
The look in your eyes
The beauty in your face
How can someone so lovely want to leave this place?
I had a dream last night that we
ran away from the world and hid,
Up in the sky just to be free
lost ourselves in the starry grid.
You should have seen all the flashing lights
of the city line below our feet,
As the breeze carried us in flight
with your hands pressed close to me.
And I never wanted to come down
we could spend our whole lives in it,
As the rest chased pavement on the ground
while our hearts flew in orbit.
