should i describe the way
roses
fall from your lips?

or the way the rain
stops
when you smile?

i can't decide
if your eyes
reflect a river
or the indian ocean

and i can't decide
in which
i would rather
drown

help me.

there was a creek
that ran by
his cheek

spilling
blue
tears
across
an alabaster
neck

make it crack
like the man
who fell
from the wall

and watch
the knights
and their
white
white
horses
trying
to save the day
pluie d'été Jun 2014
throw a stone
hear it
ricochet

push
the dusty moths
into
my sad
sad
mouth

with the curve
that mirrors
the moon

and hear
the music
that flows
from my fingertips

rhyming
with disharmony

silver wings
falling
like rain

i will catch one
if you do too
pluie d'été Jun 2014
if i don't change down
around
this corner

if i don't take my foot
off
the accelerator
and put it
on the brake

if i forget
to steer

.....

everyone says
that it's the lack
of sleep
that brings bruises
around our eyes

but really
we get the dark rings
from our thoughts
punching us
in the face
pluie d'été Jun 2014
you're a hint
of the sun
a hint
of a shadow
and a hint
of rain

and it's enough
if it's a hint
and it's not
if it isn't

I told myself not to think about you
I told myself that these thoughts could only make me fall off an even steeper cliff.

But as I lay in my bed at night, thinking about books & poems & song lyrics as I restlessly tossed and turned; the only thoughts that brought peace to me,  were the thoughts of you.
