Brianna May 2014
I told her to run
Far far away
To an unknown land
Where she would be happy
Without the demons in the world
Eating away at her unbearable flesh
She can't leave me yet
Not until I say...

Goodbye

I shall write this poem in the shape of a diamond
I shall write this poem in the shape of a diamond
I shall write this poem in the shape of a diamond
I shall write this poem in the shape of a diamond
I shall write this poem in the shape of a diamond
I shall write this poem in the shape of a diamond
Nobody’s perfect
Not even the diamonds in the sky

He was five years old
He wasn’t home
his toys held captive in the lonely shell of his broken home
he turned to his mom one day and said,
“Mommy, when will we go home?”
she can’t answer that
She can’t tell her little baby boy that their home is destroyed
She turns to him and says,
“I don’t know”
she turns and walks into the other room
trying not to let him see her upset
He’s only her little baby boy

Their house is gone
Thank God he wasn’t home
They’re glad to be alive
They lived with her mom for a month
They now move into a new house temporarily
It isn’t the same
Nothing will be like home,
The struggle is real

— The End —
