You are marble mouthed.
I used to curl my ear
Around your lips,
Conched in, to hear
The delicate manner
In which you spoke of me.
You coddled my name
On your tongue, separate
From the others held in there,
Pressed tight against the cushion
Of your cheek, so that
I'd never have to find them.
there are places
in this world

that are
meant

for families only
for taking children
only

for lovers
only

and if you
go there
alone

you will
be
there

alone
I don't care where I'm walking
as long as I'm walking away
Divorced from the world
Welcomes were over-stayed
Irreconcilable Differences
You, I, He, She
All those unspoken words in between
the lines
His pick-up lines
Her lines of coke
Both nothing but broke jokes
Rome may not have been built in a day
But
Rome fell anyway.

To say it's 2 O'clock
Feels like an insult
To 1:58
And even more of one
To 1:57
Which is often called
1:55 or 2
So much can happen in 3 minutes
I am so sorry
You are overlooked
And you could blame it on me
Y'know, if it was my fault
If I had anything to do with it at all
It’d make me happy,
Even if I lost you
To make you happy.

Bittersweetly, that isn’t the case
Because I’m not the instigator
All I can do is be here
To be here, for you.
Come play with me;
Why should you run
Through the shaking tree
As though I'd a gun
To strike you dead?
When all I would do
Is to scratch your head
And let you go.
