Semele Clutter May 2018
Pills popped
Pills gone
A little of this and a little of that

A heart stopped beating
Then didn't restart
A family left to mourn

His youngest
Never to remember
The tone of his voice
Or
The love that lived in his arms

The middle one
His only son
To follow directly in his footsteps
Only
His heart would continue beating
Behind steel bars

The oldest
To self destruct
For years
Wishing he'd only held on
Holding only to a pair of boots
And a cologne bottle
That still carried the remnants
Of the pills
He'd overdone

— The End —
