Do You Hear It?
Di Nov 2013
The song of the city,
Crooning beautifully
As we zoom on the highway.
The lights guiding its rhythm.

The wind brings it to me
Wrapping me up tightly
Clearing my heart
Like a duster in an attic.

It starts with a good electric.
Melody like F21 mood music.
Vocals like a lullaby
But more like motivation.

It holds relief in each measure,
Like a drug, or maybe
Love & Drugs
Making me wistful.

Few hear it here,
I'm quite aware.
I'm a city girl
Stuck in the uptight town.

Sometimes you want to include others
Being alone doing it on your own
Another dispute out of hand
Catching feelings by being involved
Use to being an outcast
Always there for them
No where to be Found
When you need them
Anxiety looking for wrong
Mind playing trick making up lies
Things are good expecting the worse
Writers high can't get that fix
Women are a poison of choice
Trying to not make toxic choices
Bad decisions on the mind
Old enough to know better
The chose to ignore fall into bad habits
A moral struggle trying to stay same
Relive old pain healing
Said to be better do what's right
