The Blacksmith

Clang! Clang! Clang!
Oh, my body aches! When is it over?
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Please stop the torture,

Sir, my Blacksmith, my Creator.
When will this pain be over?

Clang! Clang! Clang!
What could you possibly want?
My soul is broken, my body is shattered, when will you be done?

Clang! Clang! Clang!
What beauty can you make from me?
I came from the dirt, just a lump of iron. Can you make gold from me?

Clang! Clang! Clang!
What shape will I be?
From this fire, these blows,
I now understand what I can be.

Clang! Clang! Clang!
I understand you made me for you.
I go through fire to burn, burn my impurities.
I go through blows. To temper my mind. To temper my body,

Clang! Clang! Clang!
These blows hurt, the Fire burns.
Can you really make me into gold?
I want your water.to quench me.

Clang! Clang! Clang!
Can you make me strong?
Can you make me tall?
I will never know. I can only accept your will.
Oh, my Creator, the Blacksmith of my soul,
I trust you, I love you, for making me.

Coffee House Poetry

I ordered a cup of coffee
Black and hot
The waitress brought my order
And a cup of coffee black and hot
Is what I got
And the finger symbols clang,
Clang, clang, clang, clang

I woke this morning to hear
a bird singing on my window seal
I got out of bed and saw a bird
All to real, yes a bird was
Singing on my window seal
And the finger symbols clang,
Clang, clang, clang, clang

I heard an echo of a wise man who said
If your eye hurts while drinking tea
Remove the spoon
And the finger symbols clang,
Clang, clang, clang, clang

It was night and I Thought it
Would be dark, I looked
Outside and it was dark
And the finger symbols clang,
Clang, clang, clang, clang
