"A Familiar Face"
Sarah Quinn Jul 2014
A vivid dream once I had
When sleep was at its peak
Of demons, dark magic and war
Such horrendous-looking things;
So frightening I couldn't speak.
My eyes did not fly open, though
For a familiar face did I see
And I knew I wanted to fight it out
Just the two of us; you and me.

"The Concept of Time"
Sarah Quinn Mar 2014
It’s both limited and continuous.
Physically there in a series of digits
But not always there mentally.
Visually seen by creases and lines
But not always there physically.
Stemmed from human ingenuity
Which creeps along when anxious
And flashes by when having fun.
Wasted away on meaningless things
Then ****** dry when death is near.

"Say Something"
Sarah Quinn Feb 2014
Your smile is always present
Yet your eyes are bleak
You step with merry stride
Yet no words do you speak
You long for more attention
Yet attention makes you weak

Speak up about your troubles
Your worries and your fears
For keeping it bottled inside
Will lengthen you in years

Speak up about your doubt
The trials, the hurt and pain
For you'll find those who care
Will bring you back to sane

Speak up about your failure
The rise, the climb and fall
For even if it pertains to you
It has been a part of us all
