THE END
 Jun 2013 SALaprade

Hearts were broken,
No words were spoken,
Our breath was taken,
When we knew that it's the end,
Something you can't bare or bend,
For days a feeling that I couldnt prevent,
Thinking of you and tomorrow,
A future for a while full of sorrow,
Sorrow... sorrow I wish that helps,
The pain inside of me,
The heart that yelps,
At the end,
We leave them all
Those whom we knew For a while,
And less than awhile,
And finally as while as never,
After the days we spent together,
As soon as forgotten,
As more as it gets better,
From a journey to another,
A long or short quest,
Time never stops for anybody

NEVER.

After all,
You had to say

It's The END!

You Feel the yearn to cry,
You never want to say Goodbye,
You remember the First Hi!
Yet... you realise that it's time,

To say Goodbye.

Leaving the warmth of the womb
Bright light of the delivery room
Life forced on the young to soon
           *...i cried

The very first scrape of the knee
Wanting but not knowing the need
Youthful planting of seed
     ...i cried

Love found and love kissed goodbye
Emptiness that could fill up the sky
Times discarded by the wayside
                                ...i cried

Life that gets in the way
Never with the right words to say
Where happiness once ruled the day
   ...i cried

Through blurred vision it all fades to fast
What once was the future, now is the past
Fingers to nimble to grasp
                         ... i cried

What's left before is the grave
Friends to late to save
Tomorrow come what may
                                                           *...i cried

I've dated poets most of my life
So I could talk back and forth in rhyme

Sounds a bit  odd to some I know
But it helps with the conversations flow

That is where my mind is at
Poetry in every breath

Speak to me in hyperbole's
Sure fire way to get what you please

Sweet imagery entices me
Otherwise I may not have seen*

It helps to shine a different light
*When you date poets most of your life

              .
I watched a silent movie on television last night and wondered if that would work with poetry ...
I don't know about you but I think I'm on to something here...
I'm already working on the sequel...

I start chugging Red Bull
From the moment I get up
Popping B12 vitamins
Like they were candy drops

Chase it down with Mountain Dew
Love the way it sparkles green
Also doesn't hurt to have
A little caffeine in between

After my mid-morning snack
Of chocolate covered coffee beans
And after the unfortunate incident
With that screaming elevator scene

I head off to Starbucks
Where it is that I do lunch
You know it doesn't hurt to have
A little afternoon pick me up

I head back to the office
Where we have our last meeting
But not before I get into
One more screaming elevator scene

When I finally do get home
And the cat jumps in my lap
We snooze in my recliner
Cause we both love to relax

First thing I do is check the date
Good thru two thousand eighty five
Haven't had a can this fresh
Since Calvin Coolidge was alive

You can call it quirkiness
Each time I give the top a thump
Best way to tell if it's perfectly jelled
To the consistency that I love

If you know what I'm taking about
Well right you are and yes I am
That delectable treat of mystery meat
Known around the world as A Can Of Spam

Spam only comes in one savory flavor
King of canned meat there is only one
You remember long after your dining pleasure
By the amount of film left on your tongue

Do as I do and save the lid
A smart move you would be making
Comes in handy after dining
To help along with the tongue scraping

It's raining down in rhythm
On this the day of days
Poetic puddles forming
Along the side of life's highway

Splashing on the daily poems
As they go driving by in rhyme
Keeping up the flow and tempo
Posted on the roadside signs

The poets that hang out in the clouds
The ones that set the writings free
Do it out of love and devotion
Satisfying the deepest needs

To give life to the stanzas
A peaceful tranquillity
Washing the grime off of mankind
With the rain of poetry

My life to me seems a movie
In which I play a part
Not an award winner by any means
The film, some may call it art

It does have a bit of adventure
Some comedy with rhyme
Also it's had it's share of drama
That I myself consider a crime

I've also starred in other peoples movies
In some, bit parts are all I've played
More times though I've been a stand in
With nothing much to say

If you've seen the way I act at times
I'm clearly not a leading man
And as far as romantic movies go
That's just not who it is I am

If I take the time to think about
Comedy is what I do best
If you ask my friends and family though
What I consider funny should stay inside my head

Because once it goes into production
And acted out in scene
It's not quite as humorous as first thought
The moment it hits the big screen

So although my life...the movie
Has had its share of flops
I'll continue on with my acting
Until the movie play reel stops
