Aya
You’re oh so softly spoken, with a voice like cotton candy
And although oceans are between us, you feel so very close to me
I feel like I can touch you, and I know that you have touched me
You made my life feel like a Heaven, after Hell and Purgatory
You’re my Virgil, I your Dante, and although we live in sin
You’ve changed me for the better, so I’m glad to be your friend

A heart once shattered
Held together by tape
They're made so fragile
Guaranteed to break

A heart so soft
Too broken to mend
A boy that was heartless
His love was pretend

Incapable of love
Devoid of trust
The boy fell apart
Leaving lovers in the dust

Demons are real
They live in your head
They're more than just monsters
Under your bed

They will haunt
Every waking hour
They will chill
Every steaming shower

They will push you
To the ground
They will laugh
As they watch you drown

Demons are real
They live in your head
They keep you awake
As you lie in bed

So maybe you'll sleep
For more than a nap
Because if you're not here
The demons won't come back

If ignorance is bliss
I'd rather live in misery
Although, I feel its kiss
With every second of your company

Just for the record
I wasn't always this way
Once upon a time
I'd smile all day

My mind was at ease
My laughs were sincere
I loved and I cared
For those I held dear

But once my heart broke
Shattered on the floor
I was left feeling nothing
Loving no more

I see through my eyes
And hear through my ears
But absorb none of it
I'm empty, I fear

When your hands start shaking
And your world starts quaking
And the moon eclipses the sun

Never forget, dear
No matter how queer
Your life must go on and on

Because it gets better
No matter the weather
The sun will dry the rain

So please be calm
And carry on
The sun will shine again
