I am a door who has endured
rain, shine, and the hard knocks.
The lock and the key were a couple
who did not get to see each other
when the house owner went to work.
They'd make love to each other whenever
he returned, totally ignoring my presence.
I tried to look indifferent by keeping myself shut,
though sometimes i'd slam myself **** hard.

Today, the owner came back without the key;
he was stranded outside looking worried stiff.
He turned the **** in vain and banged against me.
While i was in pain, the lock was weeping quietly,
anxious about the safety of her beloved missing key.
Without her, the key would be useless and incomplete.
The owner was about to make a call to the locksmith,
but i couldn't gape by the disbelief that she was going
to be assaulted by an alien master key - a serial ******.

The Fish & the Bird
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
A fish, is a bird that cannot fly;
A bird, is a fish that cannot swim.
Eons ago, fishes may have flown;
while birds may have swum.. just
like how i have forgotten the many
things which i had done before...

Loneliness, is the revelry of one person;
Revelry, is the loneliness of many people.
Long ago, the loner had many friends,
while the party-goers used to be loners.
I myself have long forgotten when was
the last time a girl rested on my shoulder.

A fish, is a bird that cannot fly;
A bird, is a fish that cannot swim...

Alone
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Sweeping away the dust;
memories are but just a dream.
Looking at her eyes in that photo;
in her pupils there lived a loving me.

Stringing up all the past;
dreams come alive like a river.
Flowing through my present body,
the pulses start to feel more than real.

Those years we used to hold our hands;
her body and soul were my entire universe.
Those sweet times have now been gone;
and i have learned to enjoy being alone.

Star Gazing
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Colors that cannot be touched,
would that be called a rainbow?
Hugs that cannot be seen,
would that be called a wind?
One person thinking of another,
would that be called loneliness?

Time has stolen our intentions,
leaving behind the sorry excuses.
Fate has stolen the possibilities,
leaving behind the regrets. You
came by, and then you were gone,
leaving behind only the starry skies.

That night we gazed into the starry skies,
where we saw a lot of our brilliant dreams.
We thought that happiness was eternal,
like the stars that shone for us above.

Those stars are always remaining silent,
quietly watching the twinkle of my tears.
If you were now living somewhere among
these stars, could you please stretch your
hands out and embrace me...

Leaf
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Leaf... is a pair of wings that cannot fly.
Wings... is a leaf that has fallen on the sky.
Heaven... it could have been a destination.
Now i have forgotten when's the last time
i first started to attempt to fly.

Loneliness... is one person's revelry.
Revelry... is many people's loneliness.
Love... it began from the seeking of company.
But i have forgotten when's the last time
someone ever kept me company.

I eat alone, travel alone, and walk by myself.
i read alone, write alone, and talk to myself.
But where has my heart wandered off to?
Even i myself cannot really tell,
denying that you have really left me for good.

Leaf... is a pair of wings that cannot fly.
Wings... is a leaf that has fallen on the sky.

Summer
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Would there be a day when all
four seasons turned into summer?
Would that be the only time when
you believed in the word "forever"?
As you lay your head on my shoulder
I see your eyes close into slumber;
the love from my heart starts to spill over.

On the first summer we spent together,
you asked me if my love would ever waver;
you asked if you wanted to roam the world,
would i choose to be your guardian angel.

On the first summer we spent together,
i told you that my love would never waver;
i told you that we would roam the world,
and i would always be your guardian angel.

You don't need to compare yourself with others;
In my heart you are the most beautiful summer.
Even when the seasons change, i am always here
loving you, embracing you, this summer and forever.

Fish
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Just because it never shuts its eyes
doesn't mean it has never felt tired.
Just because it never shuts its eyes
doesn't mean it has never cried.

The fish stays in water
so you can't see its tears.
The fish swims in quiet
so you can't feel its fears.

You and I are like the fishes;
We put on strong disguises.
But i can feel your fears
and you can see my tears.

You could try to hide
and i could try to deny.
But we know deep inside
lives a fish in silent cries.

Kiss of the Rain
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
The girl stepped cautiously along the sidewalk,
while the rain kept knocking on the umbrella top,
as though it was asking her to open the nylon door.

She was being followed wherever she went,
as the knocking seemed to grow intense.
"Fold up your umbrella, and join me for a dance.

Don't let that piece of canopy come between us",
the rain said. "and let it keep you out from fun."
The girl decided to cast aside the umbrella,
removed her shoes, for once, to feel the rain.

The rain caressed between her tress of hair,
kissed her from her forehead to her neck,
and even touched her every skin.

The girl tiptoed on the flooded floors,
and made music with her tapping feet.
She swung her skirt and danced with him,
tossed her hair and did a joyful spin.

The rain had washed off her inhibitions
and made her fall in love with him. Even
if she caught flu, she'd want to do it again.

Silkworm
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Building a tiny white room around
it where thousands of white threads abound
The threads began as pure, but gradually compound
into a clutter of entanglements that almost drowned
the little silkworm, that it's feeling confounded
by life experiences that were so profound
But soon enough those threads would unbound
on it, a pair of wings would be found
The sudden ability to fly would make it feel spellbound.

The Rock & the Ocean
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
A piece of rock that had lived alone by the sea
laid lazily on the sands and said sighfully,
"I have seen the waves come and go repeatingly,
and i have touched the sands and felt the breeze.
For thirty years i have seen through life's miseries
Everything's a routine, and is as boring as can be."

An echo then came from the vast ocean and replied,
"You have never touched the clouds in the sky;
into the deepest abyss, you have never dived;
you have not met other rocks on the opposite side.
As the waves wash you out, you'll start to find
There's a jewel in your heart, and you shouldn't deny."

Canned Sardines
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Like a can of stale sardines
i lie flat and stranded, denying
to myself that i'm no longer living
but just a piece of dead meat.

I try very hard to imagine
the tin can as a time machine
that returns me to those happy times
when you and i believed in eternity.

Now i'm brought back to the reality
that the meaning of eternity is being
soaked in a pool of sour preservatives.
But I'm sour, not because of the liquid;

I'm sour because you aren't with me.

Subway Trains
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Two trains on parallel lines
shuttled through the twilight.
Moving in opposite directions
station by station by station.
They took a glance at each other
but hastily moved on like strangers.
Each train was busy on its own track
until midnight when they went back
to their respective depots for a rest.
She is in the east; he is in the west.
Quietly allowing time to pass them by
yearning for the next dawn to arrive.

Refrigerator
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
The refrigerator stood alone at a corner
where his tears were saved in the freezer.
Strong and sturdy on the outside,
he was cold and heavy on his inside.

In the house lived a woman who stuffed
all kinds of junk food to mess his heart.
She considered him as just an appliance,
walking past him as though he's invisible.

One night she came home crying to herself
She's been terribly hurt, that he could tell.
She walked toward him, and held his hand,
swung it open gently, and took a glance.

Ice cream, chocolates, and cans of beer
For ice, she drew open the top freezer
The fridge wished he could say to her,
"You use my tears to save your tears."

The Boy and His Kite
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
He wasn't very confident about himself
as he had lost a kite before. The kite was
playful and frolicked with the winds. She
wanted to fly as high as she could to touch
the clouds and reach for the sun. The winds
were too strong for the boy, and he lost his grip.
The kite wandered off and joined the winds;
She was lost in sight, and the boy lost his trust.

This time, the boy tightened the knots to his new
kite and made sure that the string wasn't too long.
He gripped as hard as he could and kept his eyes
on the kite. There weren't many clouds and the winds
weren't too strong this time. He ought to feel safe
this time, but to his surprise, the kite got stuck between
the branches of a tree, and the string got cut off;
He learned that some things just weren't meant to be.

Kissing the Cigarette
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
Everyone knows her as "Marlboro"
but i like to just call her Marlie.
She is always there for me
whenever i am sad or happy.

I had a really bad day today,
so i took her to a quiet park
where i undressed her plastic
blouse and turned her on with
my lighter. She was slim and
fair, but her face turned red.

I kissed her with just my lips
as though it was my very first.
I closed my eyes and took a
deep breath, and inhaled the
fresh menthol perfume she wore.

The kiss tasted both hot and cool,
it was hard to describe that feel.
But i felt both warm and relaxed.
Her breath entered through my
lungs, and relieved me from pain.

I breathed out some of my troubles
away, but i didn't feel enough.
I kissed her again and again
hugging her waist with my fingers.
After 20 rounds of passionate kisses
She was gone all of a sudden. I need
Marlie badly, so i'll try to look for her
at the nearest Seven Elevens.

The Cat and the Wind Chime
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
A cat was standing at the balcony gazing
at a wind chime on the opposite building.
The cat has fallen in love with her, but
she's foolishly waiting for the wind.

The wind swiftly came by and danced
with her for a while, but left her crying
when he's gone. It pained the cat to see
that, but the sound of her cry was melodic.

The wind chime couldn't do anything
unless the wind came to visit her.
The cat couldn't talk to her unless
he crossed the street and climbed over.

Between them was just the distance of a street,
and the cat could have easily crossed over.
But even if he did, nothing could be changed;
As the wind chime was only meant for the wind .

The Gods Must Be Smokers
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
I had a really bad day today,
so i went to a dark and quiet place
where i could smoke and ruminate.

I unwrapped a new pack of cigarettes,
lighted a stick, and the tip turned red.
I took a deep breath and raised my head
toward the starry sky and i was amazed
by the resemblance of the lighted cigarette
to those stars. I bet the gods must be smokers
too. Their problems must be just too great,
which made my troubles seem lightweight.

The Reef & the Waves
Ronnie Ng Nov 2011
I had a really bad day today,
so i went to the beach to meditate
by looking at the lapping waves.

Waves after waves relentlessly came
like a bunch of chopping knives,
rolling in to chip the reef away.

But these knives could not destroy the reef,
as they merely sculpted his body and face.
Through time the reef had been so well trained,
that the waves exploded and met their graves.

The reef had displayed such a strong disposition,
he could smile daily to face the ocean's challenge.
