This is good poetic expression. 
I don`t know if this was your intention, but the voice in the poem is stuck in the present. So, in some ways, he or she represents all of us. We think that we see the past, and that we can predict  the future. But in reality we all  just know the present.
Memories and dreams and life and death also place us in the present. This is what lies between.

You have built a castle with just a hand full of bricks and that is the way to do it.  No fru, fru, no fancy words that sound good but have no meaning.  you have chipped away the clay down the bone-- to the purest core-- Tone depth, power and meaning are off the charts.  I believe we all get mired in our wish to go back and do it all over again knowing what we know now. -- and how that future would then be so different.  Our memories - our look back over the shoulder and the decisions we made -- make us who we are and many times we wish it could be so much more. -- and we base all this on our dreams-- the things we always wanted and wish could have been.  And then of course its all caught between the two BIGGEST points in our lives -- the beginning and the end.  And how we face each really defines who we are. One small suggestion -- and that is all it is -- a suggestion. Just an exchange of ideas -- not really sure you need the word (I'm) at the very beginning -- try reading it without that word and see what you think.

In Australian Aboriginal language, they have no word for tomorrow (it does not exist). Eckhart Tolle said, if you asked a tree in the forest, "What Time is it" the tree would answer, NOW.
Time is man made, I suggest you read " The Power of Now ".

There is no word for tomorrow in the aboriginal language, so, if you are in Australia, as I am led to presume, then, your literary equation is less complicated than you imagined. Re work it, change your perspective, go speak with an native and you will feel much better.
