Polly knows some thing’s wrong George is not his old self since he came home on leave from the Front she begins to undress before bed in the cold attic room with Susie who lays there in the bed shivering hurry up get in bed Susie says it's freezing Polly thinks of George in his own bed all alone normally she'd have slept in his bed making love when he came home on leave she the maid he the son of the lord her master with George's head between her young thighs his moustache tickling her to joy mounting her like a horse riding off to love fields come on Pol Susie says getting cold Polly sighs stands naked then dresses in the thick grey nightgown climbs into the old bed with Susie not with George's excepting making love hot with him in her head.
