Dec 2014
Under stars and over earth
the winds they whisper melodies
caress the leaves of trees so tall
and travel over frozen seas

The winter brings a cold embrace
to freeze the sun eternally
the frost is God, and snow divine
the darkness breaks my sorrow free

I stare into the bottomless sea
as I feel it gaze deep in my eyes
it says no words but I hear its cry
and feel the rise of a raging tide

and rises in me, a silent scream
on coldest night, the strangest dream
and skies above, obsidian dark
as cold as death in black they seem

Song of winter, sung by wolves
howling high and up the hills
calling out to the mountains stark
and mountains great, forever still

Desolation in icy splendour bound
The Reaper rides horizon's shore
zephyr of Gods will numb the soul
and haunt this earth forevermore

Winter's arrived, so frigid and old
this ethereal night may never fade
rejoice the time of ceaseless cold
behold the age of no more days
Because I love winters
