Dec 2014
I am just going to rest my eyes
In the nook between your face and neck
Cradle me like an orphaned infant
Unable to barter anything to pay your hearts' rent
I know there's space near the aorta
A cardiologist in my own right
I see that there could be room
I'm a heart specialist after all these sleepless nights
And tireless tossing of sheets
And tasting of ankles
And sneaking to leave
Like a common thief
Crawled through the window
I want that chapter to be closed
And I want a new one with you
So make some room for me
In the space between your heart and your lungs
I see the vacancy
I see it when you look at me
You feel it too
So feel free
To swallow me
Complete
Perhaps I could live behind your teeth
In the flicker of that smile
That ensnared me
