I don't know the perfect words
or how to fill you with joy
to make your world light as air;
a breeze that transcends time.

I don't know if I'm the one
you want to share your life
to hold, to cherish, to delight;
a laughter that it is alright.

I don't know where I'm going
but my hopes and dreams
had you with me;
hand in hand, looking back on magic.

Certainty was never free of doubt
until those words
left unspoken;
in all their destructive forces.

Certainty that perhaps this dream,
perhaps this world
is ravenous, callous, and imagined;
a royal guard has assembled.

They cannot force you,
they can only let you in...
I cannot go down a fleeting path;
I do not do transgression.

I can only give what is inside me,
be whatever it may...
it is an outpouring;
be it too much, or not enough,
it is all I have.

I have put it out there.
