Dec 2014
He takes another sip of the alcohol diluted inside his glass,
as he waits for the thin line of powder to be passed.
Another way to escape his enduring pain,
by covering it up and keeping it detained.

Blinded by the lies he conceals.
Reckoned with all the promises he never kept.
Once again she stands alone in regret.
Kneeling from the pain beneath her chest; she feels.
Endless tears; washed over by her sorrow.
Not trying to choke, as she takes it all in and swallows.

Promised her that everything would change.
Remaining indifferent; he's leaving it estrange.
Opening her eyes; she finally is seeing the truth.
Metamorphosis into a sleuth.
In the end, she will be left to contemplate.
See how much she'll exchange her feelings with hate.
Endure his lies some more.....or....
Set herself free and walk out the front door.

Now he is drowning in the vast reaches of his thoughts,
as how he gave up so easily and never fought.
Clouded by a high that's underway,
he embraces it and begins to drift far away.
