Him
A vague thought,
As elusive as the heart
Air hanging heavy like wine.
It's an unknown world
Bright with chaos
But we chance it anyway,
Cheeks rosy with ignorance
And the thought of falling short-
We're too busy melting like stars in June.
Here we lie, close as oak and ivy
Yielding to each other as melting snow.
Eyes glowing with sparks from fireworks.
Sharing words sweet as honey from the comb,
Words glimmering like a gossamer rain
Words soft as Summer's breeze.
Here we stand arm in arm,
Turtle doves that can't live asunder
Forever to stare at the moon's white flame.
Here we wear our scars like stars
Pure and open, quivering like shadows
Hearts and souls bowed like violets after rain.
