Dec 2014
When I finally said goodbye to you
without turning
to say it again
I kissed your cheek
and tried to
engrain the moment
in my head

And I walked across the
hospital room
to pluck a
mini
carnation from your
sack
Where I closed my eyes,
absorbed your sighs,

and then never looked back.
