Isn't it funny
How two individuals who thought love didn't exist
End up falling in love?

We now live in a queen sized mattress
Our bodies intertwine automatically
A maze of arms and legs

Your fingers dance through my hair
Over my body
Across my face
Like leaves falling from a tree
Light
Gentle
Fluid

I rest my head upon your chest
And I rise and fall to the monotonous rhythm of your breaths
The thud of your heart finds a safe home inside my ear drum

You caress my cheek
And invite me to fall asleep
To the metronome you call your heart
