If You Bruise My Words
I will be falling where the night is long
If you bruise my words
A thousand doors will cast memories
Into my thoughts
Who will then come and soothe my hours
Or my nameless face
When I cannot promise you the sun
In what I am feeling
I will live in the mountains of goodbye
Where no pleasure pains
Until I have sealed each peak
Into my thoughts
From the sky up above I will be falling
If you bruise my words
You will find me there waiting
Where the night is long
You and I will know only yesterday
Chased by a promise
That runs out as we come in
In tattered clothes
