I do not light out from the depths without love, said she
Although her leaves have gathered and met
If you go with your face in its majesty
These steps to her heart
Do not forget

Curve your fingers around the reflection of the shining sun
Where the weeds and flowers soften in delight
Pour your wine into your first kiss
Until you have both seen
Dark become light

Do not let any foolish pondering, sing in your wild woods
Keep your thoughts out of the rushing deep
With a gentle hand, do bid farewell
To the other sweet pleasures
Your heart does keep

I do not light out from the depths without love, said she
Although her leaves have gathered and met
In her heart’s mind she holds a picture
Of how this love should be
She cannot forget
