We listened to him sing
for hours in your bed
And you mouthed the words
right back to me
When Poison Oak
played through your vinyl
I cried
When you told sang
"I never thought this
life was possible,"

I shrank up
delicately in your grasp
and disintegrated

"You're the yellow bird
That I've been
Waiting for."
"When I press the keys, it all gets reversed, the sound of loneliness makes me happier."
