I made a discovery

Those dreams we all have
Where we wish to scream
And the shriek holds in our chest and throat
And the pressure builds until we’re scared we will shatter
And no matter how loud we try to be
Our cries fall on deaf ears

My discovery
To put it simply

Was

This is my life

The pressure in my chest
Follows me into the waking world
And no matter how loud I want to scream
It will all be in vain
As it is silent
So I simply wait
For this void in my being

To engulf
Me
