I cannot breathe
Tears are falling
The razor is in my hand
I fight it, I fight it with all that I have
Why must it all come rushing back?
Memories that I share only with you
For them to come back now
Now when you can barely even look at me
It is not fair.
None of it was ever fair.
The words, they have never left my lips
No one, except for you and I
No one knows what happened that night.
No one knows the pain and the experience that followed
No one knows the memories that came flooding back for me.
Not even you.
No one will ever know what happened that night.
I shut off the water.
I dry off, dress, and walk out the door.
I pick up the mask and I put it back on.
Everything is fine.
I am fine.
