Cool black streams & mossy oaks
soothe the weary traveler.
But there is really no way
to fully describe in words
the true spirit
of La Florida outdoors.
Let's just say
it gets lost
in the bottomlands,
these endless swamps filled with gators
& ibises as far as the eye can see.
A shooting star
on the tip of the Everglades
spells magic
& with every croak of the bullfrog,
you lose yourself a little bit more,
from the unreality of living
away from this paradise.
