Dec 2010
The wind howls around
the house like
the storm of souls
in Dante's second circle
As the rain pounds the roof
threateningly
with fists of metal
And branches scratch
the windows as if
with claws
The heater groans
and the vent whistles
because
my cat's sitting on it
