Darker –
a shadow that starts
at midnight, growing into
the early hours
like a creeper, crawling
walls and windows,
longing to touch
flesh

Emptier –
the words that pass
between us like
vacuums, hollow and
echoing, they are the
fossils of
love

Simpler -
we have stopped fighting
the current, bending our
bones to make
sculptures, we exist in
the quiet places
between body and
soul
