Springing
From the ground
Like flowers
And groping at our
Feet
Hoping to entangle us
And trap is forever

The thorny vines
Poking into
Our ankles and
Sliding up our pant
Legs to bury spikes
Within
Our smooth unsuspecting
Flesh

Drops of blood drawn
Drop like the bold sunset
Leaving pretty stains
On the soft skin
Pulsing and
Bruised
