Hearts are fallen fast asleep.
Hearts are tired from your nightly weep.
Hearts are cracking like a broken skull
Hearts are many, but hearts are null.

Numbed to the pain of the outside
Numbed to the numbers on the scale of nine to five.
Numbed to the outcry you give when you speak.
Numbed to the hungry and numbed to the weak.

Filters are ***** with words unsaid
Filters are dusty from the dirt in our heads
Filters find flaws in our flawless bodies
Filters lie about things as simple as hobbies.

"Watch out for what you say, Sara!"
"Watch and learn how to [blank], Sara!"
Watch from behind the window.
Watch me become my own widow.
