We lay in an unforgiving bed
But you toss and turn in self-reproach
embracing thoughts on your leaving, to
escape my tears from which I should flee
Like moth to light Iā€™m beguiled by you
Should I fly to another bright smile
when our wishes are just self-denial
steeped in hurt in mirrored roles
