Lies are a human spiderweb
we weave them without a second thought
justifying our falsehoods,
easing our pain by creating false realities
many go to escape from life’s burdens
the false freedom seems intoxicating
in actuality it is a trap composed of your own twisted web
one misstep and the delicate structure will snap
leaving you with nothing

Always selfish only thinking of our own pain,
no matter how minute
caging the truth like some sort of exotic creature
it too must be set free

The pain by telling the truth is soon healed and forgotten
whereas the toll of a lie is never ending
