"I kissed the scars on her skin
I still think you're beautiful
And I don't ever wanna lose my best friend.
I screamed out, "God, you vulture (you vulture),
Bring her back or take me with her."

so many times i can recall
wiping her tears away
so broken and so small
her frail heart, betrayed

repeating myself over and over again
just one more night
one more day
keep trying

i told her
if i can do it you can too
baby just for me
without you

there would be no me

Closed eyes cannot save
The young and the brave
Cries of agony lingers
As enemies become victors
There exists no code of honor
As men destroy and conquer
Can heaven truly exist
Or are we caught in the midst
Of paradise and hell
Neither angels nor demons dwell
As the innocent are piled
We search for a Star child

Darkness surrounds us,
with no sign of light,
until colors burst around us,
simple creations of light,
their beauty astounds us,
spreading hope through the night,

The Sky
Albero Centrale May 2014
The world above her shined,
And wonder filled her eyes.
Nothing could mess with her mind.

The clouds were reassigned,
New creations rised,
The brighter the world shined.

She laid there as the clouds combined.
She stayed calm and the moon cried,
Nothing can mess with a simple mind.

Just the peace of mind,
That flies.
The brighter the world shined.

The sun fell from the behind
The wonder appeared in her eyes.
Nothing can mess with her mind.

The night soon ended,
Closing the girl's clock that controled her eyes,
The world above her shined,
Not even sleep can mess with her mind.

The Beach
Albero Centrale May 2014
The waves roll onto the beach
while the sun grows higher.
There’s only us and a few others
but the day will be packed with fun.
We set up by the high water.
It will be relaxing and calm.

The sound of the water is calm.
More people are slowly filling the beach.
Kids and seagulls splash in the water,
and the sun can only get higher.
Many people are having fun.
But it may not be with others.

The beach is filled with others,
they seem to be calm.
The children splash with fun,
as we spend the day at the beach.
The sun is not going higher,
and later it will reach the cool water.

The temperature has dropped in the water.
There has been lots of scurrying by others.
The sun is no longer higher,
and the children have grown calm.
But at the beach,
there is still more fun.

Every last moment is packed with fun,
even though there is no warmth in the water.
We are alone at the beach,
the seagulls are the only others.
Our vacation is just getting calm,
as the moon rose higher.

The moon is forever higher,
and the children never run out of fun.
When we get home, we’ll remember the calm,
and the salty smell of the water,
after the crazy others
rushed away from the beach.

A moment you were once sure would stay with you forever
be it your first day of school or a spur of the moment beach trip
the once crisp, vivid memory
fades away
piece by piece being chipped of of the master plan
losing information once vital
until one day you wake and its completely gone
replaced by newer more relevant memories
that too will one day be forgotten forever.

The Power of Food
Albero Centrale May 2014
Every night he would jump on my lap and purr
He used to be so happy so proud
But now it’s almost like a stage he was becoming a diva of a kitty

You would think he would do anything you told him
Yet he just gives a blank expression of confusion
But when you mention food it’s all ears for my kitty

I guess he loves it so much because it’s a necessity
Sure it’s good but since when is it the only thing he cares for
Even when I grab his a toy food is the only thing that will satisfy him

It may be a cat thing
Like when a teenager needs there space maybe he needs some too
But it’s been weeks and lately he’s gives me the death glare

Now this wasn’t just any glare
I think he growled
I love him so much so why was he mad at me

After about a month of trying to please my kitty
I just gave up and went on strike
But that didn’t work out to well for me

Suddenly he started scratching my legs
Then tried to bite my fingers
But this time my kitty wasn’t getting away with this one

I picked him up and threw him over my shoulders
He has anything and everything a kitty may need or want
So I set him down in his kitty condo and forced him to play

At first he was a no go but then he chewed on a toy
I figured if he does something for me I will do something for him
So that earned him a treat

I think we need therapy

Once the sun came up it was game on
Quickly he chuffed across the hardwood floor
So quiet so soft you can barely hear his little steps
Like a mouse causing cheese
The only thing on his mind was making it to the door

The door opened
Now it was a race
For him being inside was like being trapped in a jail cell
Every second was wasted if it wasn't outside
Now was his time it's on

With one move he slipped out
Finally he was outside
The sun was shining and the wind was blowing
Birds were chirping and kids were laughing
This was his element he was the protector

Yet there was something lurching
It wasn't welcome
Dark and mysterious this creature was
So much bigger then him
His territory was invaded

He was needed he was the hunter and this was his prey
The fight was underway
He would jump at one flinch
For such a little guy he could go three feet off the ground
For a protector he could be easily scared

The invasion was taking over
With only three strikes he was out
And sadly that’s the rule of the game
His nine lives were out
A hero has fallen

Hopefully one day I will find his body
Although he is gone I always feel his presence
Sometimes I think I hear him walking downstairs
The protector did his part
Long live the hero

We're Different
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
You see me every day
Hear everything you say
Good things
Bad things
All are things

Some days you make fun of me
About the way I look
The clothes I wear
I'm different
Almost strange to the rest

You thing I don't hear you
The lies that you tell
The rumors
They spread
Like a virus

I learned to follow the flow
Stick to the stream
If anything
I keep attention away from me
That's me

As children we used to soar
Many now
I see are shunned
Popularity has destroyed
The bonds between us

They make us different

Life, a metaphor poem
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
Growing up is like driving down a curvy dirt road.
Sometimes you get a flat tire and have to stop.
We always take a step back and remember its not the end of the world.

Life is like homework. We try to erase the mistakes but it’s always faintly there.
Sometimes you lose important papers, it fills us with regret.
We all need to start over sometimes.

Finding love is like looking for a pin in a pitch black room.
Sometimes we think we have it, only to realize it’s not there.
We will always keep looking, even when we feel like giving up.

Dreaming is like getting a present.
Sometimes it can be perfect, others can be disappointing.
We all have that hope that maybe someday it will come true.

The water’s song

Sky is sharing, the water sings
To me the water does no harm

Brings to me, a brand new song
The wind, the water

Who Am I?
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
Who am I?
I’m nice to all,
I’m not too clumsy,
I’m shy but a good guy,
Who am I?

I like to make people laugh,
Even if its at me,
I like animals big or small,
It hurts when I fall,
I know most of you,
Like you know me,
Who am I?

If you know me I’m like a tree and see over thee,
But some of you don't understand me,
I look funny and don’t have a lot of money,
I know these things and I don’t mind,
I love sports ,the most popular three.
Football, Baseball, and Basketball,
I was one of three on my team,
Who am I?

I love my town more than any,
I have a dog Teddy,
I love to cook and I’m good at it,
I’m like you all but I ain't small,
Sometimes I act like a fool in school,
But I still get A’s and B’s,
I've been mistaken for some of the teachers,
I have made many friends,
You always see me walk to school even when it is cool.
Who am I?
Guess if you can, and my name rhymes with one word in this sentence.

An Emerging Spring
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
As the winter wind blows away
all the dreams of yesterday,
We sit inside all bundled up
drinking cocoa from a cup.

I watch the maples dull and dry
begin the sap and to provide.
We know that as the days go by,
We'll fix the Earth up to the sky.

Before we fix the spring to new,
we know just how much there is to do.
We'll melt and push the snow away
and call back all the bluest jays.

The cold must go away and heat must come,
pouring down from the shining sun.
We hope and wait for ground of white
to go away and fix my sight.

With flurries gone and rainbows back,
the joy of picnics with a snack
and all the fun and summer things
comes back to my full mind with wings.

Though the winter has its time,
summer has children at their prime.
And now that summer has arrived,
our childly fun has been revived.

"On summer nights the world
moves within earshot
on the interstate with its swish

On winter nights the world
rests within earshot

and houses, an occasional patter
that sends warmth through us.

On fall nights the world
sneaks within earshot

Haunts me

Everything it ever took from me,

Delivers me to pain

It sends venom through my veins

The gentle kiss burns through my flesh

I start to disintegrate

But I can’t deny it

No one thought I would get this far

My soul was left to die

I have lost my everything

I start to crave fear

Left for the dirt

Filled with hate and sin

I am forgotten

With only myself to blame

I lie alone

Not far over a moose

Above all this a eagle sores

Then a roar
Everything quiet except for

A Map
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
Spanning across the ragged paper in a glorious fashion,
Sharp edges against the greasy fingertips of past men,
Ink hardened by ages of use and light,
Crinkled by the square folds made long ago.

Made to accommodate a pocket or bag,
Held for quick use, if an opportunity were to arise,
Use of finding somewhere new, somewhere unbeknownst,
If only to add to what has already been found.

A map so weathered by age,
Dust manifested like a parasite, in each broken corner,
Signs of misuse so brightly uncovered, a stain, a burn,
A bird dropping, a cut from a knife, all from a different place, each on it, in ink.

It has seen many a place, sea and land alike,
Jungle and plains, mountain and desert, evidently seen without it's glorious sheen,
Ink never buckled under the conditions, crisp and clean.
Overbearing was it's missions it could not fail.

Created to mark and record, it lays easy when one is done,
On to the next one, somber not a chance, gleams of more in its compass eye,
Years would pass until another was drawn, by another hand or same,
No difference was it too the map, it's owner a scoundrel or knight.

The map never batted a lash, winced in pain,
When the quills whipped and lashed,
For it was the comfort in knowing, that for its suffering it was providing,
Providing a map, a map for which all could use.

A map that sailed the seas, crossed the deserts,
Traversed the white mountains, blazed through the jungles,
A map that would be copied and shared, a thing from which knowledge would stem,
Ideas would flourish, inventions would be invented, all because of one single Map.

Wishing it didn't happen to me
Thinking why I fell in your trap
Waiting for a sign that it wasn't ment to be
But nothing comes so I loose my breathe

I stop breathing focusing on why

They say the spots
tell the story
they say the blots
tell of glory

They call it abstract
and try to impart,
although I retract,
this is art

I look at all the strokes
so frequently seen
that make me choke
when asked what they mean
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
All they say,
Is that I’m useless,
Nothing more,
Than another grain of sand in the bucket.

Beaten and tortured,
By my own mind,
Ripping and clawing at the chains that bind me,
Tracing every scar.

I know I've had it rough,
There’s people who've just had it so much worse,
Unable to break the bonds,
That their own heads created.

I know that I’m stronger,
Even sometimes I feel I might not break through,
I just have to keep reminding myself that,
“This is not what it is,
Only baby scars."

I know what you told me,
That life gets better,
It always gets better,
Because it can never,
Put me through more than,
I could handle,
“This time I'll make you,
Proud to see me over,
Come on daylight.”
Whisk me away form this terrible nightmare.

As the struggle continues,
The future getting clearer,
Each and every day,
“I believe it's time for me to be famous,
And out of place.
I believe it's time for me to move forward,
When I break through.”
It’s all thanks to you.

Summer Love, Come & Gone
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
Holding onto the smell of your t-shirt,
Remembering the life in your smile,
From this day on I swear I’ll remember,
The light in your eyes.

You swore you’d never leave,
Something foolish I chose to believe,
When the walls came crashing down,
Silently.

I knew all the mistakes we made,
Troubles faced,
But you kept my hopes up every day,
Moving forward.
Through tear streaked eyes,
Starry nights,
Painful goodbye’s,
And a sinking feeling,
You kept me going strong.

But I never knew,
This perfect life would end,
Unraveling,
Just like a thread.

My head keeps spinning.

And that one time,
You no longer love me,
I’ll say I’m fine,
Continuing on.

I knew all the mistakes we made,
Troubles faced,
But you kept my hopes up every day,
Moving forward.
Through tear streaked eyes,
Starry nights,
Painful goodbye’s,
And a sinking feeling,
You kept me going strong.

You were my summer love,
Come and gone,
Just like a sunrise,
You never knew,
The things I’d do,
To keep you from falling...

... When I already fell.

I knew all the mistakes we made,
Troubles faced,
But you kept my hopes up every day,
Moving forward.
Through tear streaked eyes,
Starry nights,
Painful goodbye’s,
And a sinking feeling,
You kept me going strong.

You kept me going strong,

But now my summer love has come and,
Gone...

the worst moment in life
is when the magic and wonder of childhood is taken from you
when you finally are forced to put two and two together
and see that everything you once thought was real
was just tricks and lies from everyone,
your parents
your favorite shows
your relatives
it was just fun and games they all went through it too
but age has subdued the pain
and secretly they too want to go to a simpler time
were fairies and easter bunnies thrive
and you’re so innocent and pure that you will believe everything said to you
and don't we all want to take away the pain of deception and lies
to be a child again to not ever know of deceit

The Quest
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
truth can be like finding an object in plain sight
we’re surprised even though it is obvious
it sometimes takes a major revelation to see what's there
many spend their whole life blind

we can miss truth by being fixated what seems clear
no one is pure evil nor virtuous
our brain may want to label
but truth evades such efforts

we place some on pedestals
they will always fall
breaking your heart along with it
or we judge others for past failures and mistakes
they aren't given the same opportunities

finding truth is not an easy task
we fail to grasp it when it’s obvious and
we grasp at falseness thinking we possess it

Love Letter
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
The words fell off of my lips,
Like a **** had been broken in my mind,
Every single thought,
Being transferred onto paper.

Struggling to keep up,
With all the words I never said,
The crumpled up ***** of paper,
Lying motionless next to my bed.

All empty thought,
And things that didn’t come out right,
Never going to sleep,
Staying up in lamp light.

It felt like I was drowning,
Begging for sleep to finally pull me under,
To put my thoughts to rest,
And make me stop having all the “what-if’s” scraping around in my skull.

So many things were left unsaid,
Since the day we met.

But now I’m writing everything down,
In one massive wave,
And I can only hope and pray,
That you feel the same.
