She jotted the moment
Capturing it in essence
   And he watched
As she scribbled
  Short life lessons
She wanted to remember
The hunger in his eyes
  As her pen jotted on
       It could tell no lies
  She wrote the word lonely
           In a silent cry
   This man was no poet
Left only to question
        Why?
